A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Your parliament is a rubber stamp that dgaf about its people. Your King won't veto it, he won't dissolve parliament, he's fucking in on it! Get the fuck out before you go full North Korea and they don't let you leave anymore!
I've bloviated on the powerlessness of the monarch elsewhere. The monarchy is, in some respects, a prisoner of parliament.

tldr: "Abdication" of Edward VIII. Parliament took greater issue with his marriage than the people would've and they were basically afraid he was going to break the centuries-long status quo of the king not involving himself in politics. Parliament stopped him from speaking, intercepted his communications, and basically offered him the choice between love and the throne — he chose the former. They remained married until the day he died. And anyone insisting it was "religious" and not "political" are good candidates to sell bridges to.

Parliament's shit, yeah, but you have to hope for something better. How fucked would you feel personally if Kamala had won? Would you have wiped your hands of the states and left for Guatemala? (According to google it's the only place with constitutional gun rights and free speech besides Mexico and the USA) Probably not.

I've never believed in fleeing the country, you're essentially just handing it away which doesn't doesn't feel right. Also leaving would be rather expensive. Since I'm not bilingual my options are:
1. America 2. Malta 3. Hong Kong 4. "Some random African country with English lingua franca." 5. Jamaica.
They're in no particular order. Weather's nice regardless of where I went but still: there's no place like home.

If the situation doesn't improve and actively deteriorates within a decade, I'll just create a vaguely gun-shaped bulge in my coat pocket, aim it towards a Royal Guard whilst screaming some vague gibberish, and hopefully get 1-tapped in the head by an SA80 with a bayonet attached.

Honestly, it's what Mosley/Powell/Churchill/Elizabeththe2nd/Cromwell would've wanted.

FURTHER HAPPENING: The Metropolitan Police has claimed that they were forced to arrest Linehan in a statement:

Guido Fawkes: (L / A)
I don’t seem to remember them arresting Jo Brand at gun point for saying Farrage should have battery acid through in his face. I seem to remember them not investigating at all.

They very much have a choice in what they investigate. Like how they choose to arrest women with the union flags but ignore migrant rape gangs for decades.

Report a burglary and see it it’s investigated or if you’re just given a crime number and fobbed off.

Trump is the reason we've been saved here in the UK, our 'Trump Card' if you will.

The rise of Reform UK and Trump's popularity with the working class of the UK is the fly in the ointment which Labour cannot and will not deal with properly.

Don't worry too much about the Digital ID - Labour cannot even get the Data Centres built! One of these was earmarked for Bridgend but now won't be built as the Senedd has 'no money' to give to the project as it's apparently a 'devolved' issue and the Senedd and Westminister are playing a continuous match of 'Blame Pong' over it.

They made their own too weak and idiotic to ever deal with reason and common sense.

Edit: The former Senedd member for Caerphilly, Hefin David, is understood to have taken his own life.

Whilst I hated the guy, he was still a Human Being.

It just makes me wonder how many more 'sudden deaths' we're going to see from Labour people who feel that they can't go on 'with the project'.

Bathbomb store LUSH has closed all its stores in a day of protest over Gaza (X), aiming to pressure the UK gov into action by 'denying it a day's worth of tax revenue.' Ignore the fact this is lame and gay and most conservative religious Gazans would hang the fags who run LUSH, this could be another headache for Keir, and not just the perfume smell when you walk past the stores.
I always see those 'economic blackout protests' on social media where Yanks threaten to not buy anything for a whole day in protest of racism or something, but I've never seen the result of them (if anyone has, please let me know, there's been so many 'blackouts' I start to wonder how effective they are) so I never pay them much mind. Seeing an actual chain shut down in protest is mildly attention catching. They reported 690M in turnover last year, its likely nothing, but could be something to watch if more stores get involved or this keeps repeating with more talk of denying the government tax money (and questions of where the money is going, Israel, migrants housing, or elsewhere). LUSH is always quite busy around me, very popular with the youths/social media and known for their trendy collabs such as the Minecraft collab or upcoming Halloween collections etc. They should bring back the TNT bathbomb to support Gaza, not the watermelon soap.

There should be details in whatever website is used for government contracting, which should be public. The tendering process is a good glimpse I to future horrors
When they last tried the national ID scheme a couple of heavy hitters (I know BAE was one of them) pulled out at the bidding stage.

Fujitsu will turn up to the opening of an envelope, so I wouldn't be shocked if they put a bid in. I'll never forgive those wankers for what they did to ICL.

I just lost my job due to out sourcing (probably to browns) and then this pops up on my news thread and basket weaving forum. Man I am having the best of weeks right now.
Slightly powerlevelling, but could be worse, you could lose your job not six months in because corporate ended up nepo-hiring a new faggot CTO who has 0 experience in the industry because he was the CEOs friend and he decided that despite the company barely managing to meet deadlines as it is, (my boss frequently mentioned that he'd been trying to get a new member in his team for like two years) he'd downsize the main workforce that actually does all the fucking work. (Meanwhile, HR is of course left completely untouched, despite doing fucking NOTHING.)

Sometimes I feel bad for my old colleagues, but then I just feel relieved that I'm not the one who has to deal with the absolute fucking nightmare that corporate decided needed to occur.

Just read through whatever the fuck happened in this thread after I made this post:

I did go and edit the post with the obvious strikethrough as it was quoted in Community Happenings and don't want to make it seem like it's an actual thing that is going to happen imminently. Thought the 'Labour Together' reference would've been enough but I didn't count on the American appetite for British misery.

I'm flattered you trust me enough to go and make a Community Happenings post based a 2am ranting post, but please read the fucking links if you're going to put your name against it. I'm a retard from a different country who's up at 4am posting on a gossip forum. I'm not a news presenter and you're not a baby that needs to be spoonfed.

Also, @WelperHelper99 , can we get the postmark on that post removed? It's not that important and will probably be misleading for anyone highlight surfing especially in conjunction with the CH post. Not sure if the person who requested it can do it or if that's a janny thing now it's been done.
I have arrived to see 16 notifications in my inbox. I don't have stickers on, so that means i got a lot of mail. Guess how many are from here? It's notable that this was floated at all. Clearly a lot of people think it's worth discussing, even if it doesn't happen.

Also I wish for you bongs not to suffer. I wish that your government would stop being fucking evil and we (everyone else) would not have to deal with the ramifications of your nanny state laws.

We all hope you get shot up by a tranny ❤️

Every time we have to see you post is a form of suffering. You keep posting stupid stuff and when you're corrected you don't even read it.
I've read every post targeted towards me. I think you guys are wrong. It's this attitude of "they won't do it" is why you are in your current situation.
Stop posting Americans.
American website currently suing your country so you can be free to shitpost. Lol.

You literally posted the wrong thing in community happenings because you didn't read the article. And you won't stop doubling down on being retarded. It's like we're on /v/.

The Rayner tax situation is a surprise. Reeves is not. Reeves will go after the November budget, that has already been decided.
It's hard to know who will stay or go. Any speculation can't predict what dirty laundry will be aired and which people the media will side with. Labour knows everyone hates them and they're all going to be stuck between 2 bad options. Option 1 is taking control and then being blamed for more stuff their party is pushing through. Option 2 is joining Jezbollah and losing the power they have in labour. They're playing a game of hot potato and all of them want Labour's current power but none of the consequences of holding it. Every Labour politician right now is Truss in waiting.
