A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

@Spud: I don't think it's a joke address. Absolutely not saying it's his real one,but on surface of it, it seems to be a normal UK postal address.

Also the dirty bastard who threatened to gang rape and blow up an air hostess is getting some attention. Someone has written to Lord Hermer to tell him the matter needs reviewed under the Unduly Lenient scheme otherwise it's a indictment of the clear, evident two tier justice systeminthe country.

About foster care, has there been any recorded instances of kids being taken away because their parents have traditional views? I'm genuinely interested, I haven't heard of it. I'm unconvinced because by that rule most religious families, white black or mud, will be theoretically getting their kids taken off them. I just can't see it happening.
I cannot give you specific cases where this has happened but the social services do use gag orders. If they did take a kid away for being too based they would gag order the family to cover it up. The government is slimy and you should protect yourself if there's evidence or not. Teach your kid right from wrong but don't talk about stuff that gives an age range online. You might not have facebook but they maybe able to tie your posts here to you if there's another big data breach on the farms.

Even if (insert bad thing here) hasn't happened yet, at this point in time I wouldn't comfortably assume you wont be the first case to "make an example out of" as things get worse by the day.
I firmly believe it's all a case of "It'll get worse before it gets better" so I'm not dooming but they're thirsty for blood and fresh meat right now

They need good optics and a win. Adolescence left most normtards crapping their tighty whities over "muh online extremists" so they'd love to get someone to make an example of.

Turns out going after a woman who posted a tweet, deleted it after regretting, while giving sentences of half the time to drunk bigamous dodgy businessmen isn't helping them, and they know it.

I genuinely am not a violent person and I abhor it, however I don't see how this situation will be resolved without it. The Government is hoping that the football starting up again will distract people but if the right leaning media keeps putting out the content is has been people will keep having the botched abortion state of the country rubbed in their faces.

Didn't that fail? The normies I knew were talking about how they race swapped the killer to be white. They rejected it and the propaganda didn't last long.

To be fair, my experience is limited and anecdotal. The people I consider friends think the same as I do.

Perhaps you know better normal people than I do :) entirely possible.

They're being stymied by all sides other than their own - at no point since Sir Robert Peel became the first PM of the United Kingdom have both Left and Right factions both opposed the leader simultaneously.

This is new territory and the brain-washing isn't working, it's only riling up more and more people and making Nigel Farage ever more powerful.

There will be violence but don't expect it to be from the Far Right necessarily - the Far Left, I still believe, will fire the (literal) starting gun and then the MSM won't know what to do.

Palestine Action are now working with Hamas and that should worry people.

@the rat

To paraphrase a certain song by Queen:

'They want it all
they want it all
they want it all
and they want it now!'

Labour to tax pensions of Britons who die before retirement age:
Another hugely popular policy! Has your 28 year old daughter died with her £15k pension? Fantastic, now you get half of that back! Pure evil.

Have they just totally given up on re-election and are now setting the stage of failure for the next government?

Let me tell you how it will be.
There's one for you, nineteen for me.
I'm the taxman...

Hilariously written during the 1960s Labour government where tax rose up to 90% for anyone who was a millionaire.

I thought that PA and Hamas were always in bed with each other?

I can't understand people who don't see Hamas for what they are. They executed their political opponents, they use civilians are human shields and they steal aid for their country men.

Typical Muslim behaviour, granted, but anyone capable of defending them is mentally unwell.

A good question, I genuinely think that they want Nigel in as PM:

They have no intention on fixing the problem, only robbing people and jailing people who say hurty words.

I believe that a good chunk of their MP's are also on resignation watch too (a shame for some it's not also suicide watch) with Alex Davies-Jones (MP for Pontypridd) a name to watch as she's being attacked by both sides:

The Right hate her for lying about the Chagos deal financial numbers and the Left hate her for not delivering a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Apparently, she's refusing to hold surgeries in and around her local area unless people can be vetted as she fears 'being murdered'.

@BongoMongo Exactly, but the Lefties who back them believe that PA is a just and noble cause - it's all about rainbows, peace and love... with the odd bit of Jew hatred thrown in for good measure.

It's fascinating how Labour always drew attention to the way the Tories cautiously revealed policy: float an idea in the press and see how bad the reaction is. Focus groups at a mass scale without paying a penny. If the reaction is bad, you come out and say that's just a rumour and you wouldn't do it. If it's a good to moderate reaction, you go with it.

Labour are definitely doing this ahead of the Halloween budget. Most of these ideas will likely be scrapped but the key things to look at will be:
- Income tax thresholds (VERY likely these will remain as they are, dragging millions more into paying more tax)
- ISAs
- Private pensions (the policy they're floating this week)
- Gold reserves. Brown sold our gold when he was chancellor and gold exploded in price after. It triples in price every ten years, on average.
- Selling seized Bitcoin (valued at around £4 billion).

They'll be launching an investigation into that officer as soon as possible, if they havent already
But that's fine too, go ahead, fire a police officer for questioning you, then all his friends will question you too, you already cant handle the protests
