A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I'd have to go way back but whilst the production of the show wasn't directly funded by the gov, the organisation the show consulted with and who subsequently was responsible for trying to show it across schools over the UK were.

Adolescence's astroturfing (Labour) and the OSA (Conservatives) were two separate party solutions to "youth violence" (cough immigrants cough) convening to create one fucked up homunculus.

As an aside: Labour claiming all the Conservative party's "solutions" (fuck-ups) to violence against women/girls as their own is probably one of the more retarded things they've done in hindsight. They effectively own the OSA now and all its bad PR with young people (the demographic they want to attract) by defending it so much.

My post a while back musing about why Labour was pushing Adolescence so much:

Just expanding on this but Lewis Brackpool the guy who spends all his time making FOI requests got the government to admit they use TV shows and fictional content to push agendas, including civil servants writing scripts for it.

And let's not forget about the 77th Brigade. Our Armed Forces are a laughing stock and we'd be fucked if we needed to go to war, but hey, they've Soldiers doing social engineering by posting on social media, so they can drip -feed right think to the plebs.

In other news, veterans are being made homeless for migrants.

The White House is pissed about OSA;

Articles are free, but Starmer is incredibly stupid for raging a war with Trump because it is one he will lose swiftly. The tariffs he put in are about to make as much as the UK's annual GDP in less than 5 months.

They're trying to Le Penne Farage

Funnily enough, Reeves and Yvette can break these rules multiple times, along with Keith. Good plan Kev to uninstall Farage when the US are watching you for breaching free speech.

Interesting the sort of emails the pigs were
sending to the American tech companies last summer . Jim Jordan posted this that even suggestions of two tier justice they were trying to censor. I really think Starmer is on thin ice with the yanks now. The full thread is worth reading https://x.com/jim_jordan/status/1950368307372020086?s=46

Disbarring Farage from standing would be a strategic blunder of Light Brigade proportions. It would further boost support for Reform party by blatant lawfare, it would not stop him appearing everywhere to speak and in fact probably free up some time to do so and spare him being PM (I'm still not convinced he actually wants the job itself). And most importantly for many Farage critics it would give them what they actually want which is a Reform party free to bring in more radical leaders.

Slight expansion on the second point but the OSA is basically being used as a vessel to pass through Blairs idea of everyone carrying ID and an effective online ID system. If they can get everyone to have to essentially doxx themselves at all time to do anything online then they've basically got the power they wanted from forcing everyone to carry ID's irl (they've sort of already got the ability via credit). They can both been seen to be doing something whilst at the same time really nothing but passing through laws they've actually wanted for decades.

No surprise that the literal first thing this bill was used for was to censor protest footage and now it's being reported it's being used to silence rape gang victims since this bill was never designed to help kids at all. They've been also trying to gas light the public on Reform and Farage who have all come out against the act saying that their "literally Jimmy Savile" because as you mentioned "there's no reason to engage with critics".

I'm just going to sit back and wait for the inevitable data leak or mass scam that comes out around this act involving peoples data, it's not and if but a when.

Well said - the Left are too frightened of him to do anything.

I agree that Farage is a bit too moderate for my tastes, but I have to counter that by saying that most people find a little bit 'spicy' because they've been educated to think that patriotism = extremism.

He will be a two year PM maximum (age and health is against him) and then we can get the more radical people in and prepare for the long haul, maybe even taking in people like Paul Golding and Ashlea Simon etc.

That's an aspect of this I haven't seen capitalised on for criticism much. But it's a good one. If the government compiles a giant DB of everyone's online activity it's inevitable that it will get leaked.

So there has already been reports of sites running fake submission forms as a way to harvest data and some sites sneaking into their user agreements that they can sell the information you give them so it's inevitable it will happen.

The easiest and most likely way this is going to happen is some fake website manages to sneak it's way onto the top of the google search engine by some means (which has happened before) and starts harvesting this data as people try and log in. The other is simply that a site gets compromised and the hackers get access to the submissions.

(the funniest way is a Tea app situation where it's a publicly available file in the CSS)

Protest held against plans to house asylum seekers
More than 1,000 anti-immigration protesters have demonstrated against plans to provide accommodation for couples and parents seeking asylum.

It came after former Conservative home secretary Suella Braverman labelled Home Office proposals to house 35 people in flats above shops in Waterlooville "utterly inappropriate".

Havant Borough Council's leader, Labour's Phil Munday, accused the MP for Fareham and Waterlooville of seeking to "exacerbate fear".

A Home Office consultation ends on Friday, after which it will decide whether to approve the proposed accommodation.
In a letter to current Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, Braverman wrote such facilities made town centres "no-go zones for the patriotic, common-sense majority".

In a statement on Tuesday, the council said it would "do its utmost to reflect the view of residents" when submitting its response to the Home Office.

It said, following discussions with the Home Office, it had been told the accommodation was "best suited for the use of couples, or single parents with young children".
Crowds of people carrying flags and placards gathered in the Hampshire town on Wednesday afternoon.

Protester Nicola Lattimer said: "We've had enough of the government, they just are not listening to anybody."

Sue Johnston said it had been an "excellent protest" adding: "I would really like Keir Starmer to explain to us what the end game is for all these immigrants he's letting in?"

She added that she was worried about increased pressure on the NHS and migrants getting priority with local services.

"They haven't paid nothing into the country so why should they?" she said.

Another woman who did not want to be named said: "It's about time our government helped our people."

In a social media post after the protest, Braverman said: "Very proud of the people of Waterlooville tonight."
Phil Munday said: "I am yet again concerned with [Braverman's] repeated use of inaccurate language in her supporting letter which only seeks to exacerbate fear in the hearts and minds of our concerned residents.

"Repeated reference to illegal immigrants and unwanted men flames fears when we know as a matter of fact all users of the proposed accommodation are supported asylum seekers."

In a second letter to the Home Secretary last week, Braverman said the proposal would "drastically undermine the fabric and community" of the town.

"Even if the occupants are predominantly women and children, this will place a significant burden on local resources."

The council said it had not initially been consulted on the plans after Clearsprings, a procurement company employed by the Home Office for the project, had used an "incorrect email address".

It was subsequently granted a 10-day consultation period on the proposals.

Braverman was sacked as home secretary in November 2023 after she defied then prime minister Rishi Sunak over an article accusing the Metropolitan Police of bias in the policing of protests.

It’s funny how pathetic the stand up to racism counter protesters have been. Even giving up and going home in some instances. The tide is really turning in my opinion. I’ve said it before that there are some based brown women but even my paki colleague was going on about how she’s sick of hearing about freshies in the hotels getting free shit the other day.
They have completely lost control of the narrative they had last year.

Probably a good idea to start looking at leaving for the Browns while they can still leave with their property and money.

I had the misfortune/pleasure to be on a flight across Europe with several orthodox Jews their wives and offspring.

All started well, with one of them insisting (not politely asking) I swap seats because he had to sit next to his wife. I told him to fuck off, as he could have booked seats for them both to ensure this, especially as it was so important for their religion. But not important enough to spend a few dollars to ensure this

I finally relented because takeoff was going to be delayed otherwise, and the aircrew were looking very harassed, as nearly all of the jewish couples had not booked seats.

They were a bunch of vile cunts to everyone on board. I hope I never have to suffer them ever again.

There were a bunch of them on a flight out to south america, a small lifetime ago. All heading home to Argentina, I suppose. They were a world away from your experience, though it was quite funny when the women all started taking off their wigs. Very polite and peaceful, otherwise.

The smell, though... do haredi even bathe?
