https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

This is abnormal? I thought everyone wanted to be their mistresses tampon. It's 2025 bigot!

On the talk of tech security. Which phone wallet is the most secure and has the least intrusive sign up? I want to put some money on my phone to keep as a back up but I don't want to hand over identity images and crap. One I looked at wanted pictures of my passport. I don't want my passport to leak in a data breach so that one is out. I want to put my card in to load cash onto the phone and be done with it. I would ask in the tech subforum but the UK and US won't have the same best providers.

You won't find one. They're all required to "prove" your identity by the financial services regulations.

There is no such thing as 'secure' when it comes to technology. If you are worried about your account being hacked then you do not make an account. It's as simple as that. Some services might be better than others for security but none of them will be secure. If you want a backup then stick £100 in your sock, that's the best you'll get.

But man I fucking hate this tech privacy bullshit. I try to log into a single fucking website. Cycle through about 20 tor exit nodes before it finally lands on one that isn't blocked. Then I have to go and sign in, easy enough. Click the sign in button, exit node's changed lol have fun refreshing. It gets one. Thing's fucked up and the website doesn't load properly. More f5ing, yay! Then I get it to load properly. Sign in pops up and works. I was kinda lazy and just used the sign in with google prompt when I made the account. Ok so I now have to sign in through google. I press the button to do so. Doesn't fucking work because the exit node has expired and the new one that the login redirect is being sent to is blocked. I go just straight to google and log in. I type my exact email address and the fucking 15 character long password. Get hit with a captcha to which I am told I failed because apparently I don't know what a bike looks like? So I refresh fucking again. Finally works. Lets me enter my password. But that's not all. I now have to confirm it was me, because apparently my fucking password isn't enough. So I now have to open gmail on my phone specifically to confirm it was me. Then it lets me log in. And then I can finally go through one last f5 session on the website but specifically on the / login part and finally get in. And it took about half an hour. I use this website every day. I will now have to do that exact ritual every single day just to use the website because cloudflare are faggots. It would be much easier if I could bypass google and their bullshit. But I can't. I cannot migrate the account from a google login using my google account to a login using an account on the website that just happens to be a gmail account. And that is fucking one single website.

Twitter. Twitter just doesn't fucking let me on. It simply refuses to let me even try to log in. For what reason? God only knows. Same for my email account. Blocked from attempting to log in for an entire day on the account in general because I apparently clicked too many wrong squares on a fucking bike or some shit. It's fucking insane that of all the websites somehow this dumb little forum with what like 5000 users can deal with tor better than one of the largest social media platforms can. Why the fuck does twitter block me for 'suspicious' activity when it can't even be bothered to update the onion link. Yes it probably fucking is suspicious but maybe if you lazy cunts did something that apparently a fucking autistic dog can manage to do in a day then maybe it wouldn't be a problem but apparently that's too much to ask of a guy that apparently gives a shit about free speech. I fucking hate this country I fucking hate technology I fucking hate corporations I fucking hate the internet I am off to go live in the woods and pick mushrooms and fucking behead anyone that comes near me with a fucking claymore or some shit. Fucking absolute retard world I swear. Sure I can use a vpn but they're all shit and snakeoil anyway. Yea I can bypass the block with a vpn. But I can't fucking select what that does. I can't tell it to filter shit. I don't care if the government sees the shit I watch on youtube, I would prefer if they did rather than it all being tor traffic. At least that way it might look less suspicious. But no. Can't do that. Have to send everything through a vpn if I want to use twitter at the same time. I'd just make a new account to use on here and fuck off the old one entirely but I think the shit I post is so niche that it wouldn't matter anyway and honestly I already have an alt twitter account for this site and it gets fucking blocked half the times I try to log in to it. I just fucking hate technology holy shit. And I thought my washing machine was a cunt. If I combined the fucking ludditic hatred from every single time I checked my washing 3 hours after a supposed 2:30 long cycle only to see that it is still telling me there's an hour left, if I combined that it still would not be enough to describe how much I hate technology and the government and last time the fucking thing took twice as long as it said it would and made me stay up until about fucking 3am when I needed to be awake at 6am just so I could put the clothes in the tumble so I had something to wear when I had to leave in three fucking hours and honestly it's a good job that the sledgehammer is kept away from the washing machine.

washing machine
Check it hasn't got the gay "delay start" option enabled. That thing is a bastard. Also unless you are a mad diseased cunt, normal clothes soiling will wash out at 40 or 50 degrees and you can run those cycles at about an hour 20 mins. Two hours thirty is "the nappy exploded with shit" territory.

No it's got 'smart wash' technology. ie it will change the length of the cycle based on how dirty the water is and how heavy the load is or some completely arbitrary pseudoscience like that. It is just not actually even remotely smart because it doesn't fucking calculate that in a way that I can see. It doesn't tell you how long it will take, it lets the wash cycle finish but then just gets stuck on 00:00 remaining instead of telling me how long it will take. Sometimes it just decides that it needs to take an extra half hour. And no most of the time it is around the two hour mark, jeans especially get fucking filthy so. A lot of that time is just getting stuck on spin anyway, it will genuinely spend sometimes up to an hour where it just sits there, does nothing for maybe 30 seconds, then spins at full speed for 10 seconds, then stops, waits another 30, repeat that cycle for a fucking hour. I have tried to stop it when it's doing that but if I press the abort button it dumps the contents of the pipes onto the clothes and soaks them for some reason. It's dumb and it's fucking retarded but it starts when I tell it to and it still technically works so replacing it seems like a waste.
You have underestimated the number of secret diaper furs in this website.
Even if you found out about my totally secret diaper kink I wouldn't fucking put that in the washing machine, especially not with all my other clothes. Idk last time I checked you're meant to throw them away.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't shake off the feeling that we are close to what could be a Black Swan incident or incidents which will shock the nation and may even lead to a mass swing of public opinion against the current Government which they will not be able to counter.

The Manchester Arena bombing (2017) and the Stockport knife incident (2024) had very different public responses.

If something horrible happens this year, as has happened many years this past decade, the backlash will be huge.

I don't know what counts as an 'unlnowm unlnown' or a 'black swan'.
I just won't be surprised if everything suddenly kicks off this summer. I don't expect last summer's harsh sentences for Twitter tweets to be a deterrent.
I see the term 'tinderbox' used often. That's probably where we are.

The internet feels so different today, like a "This is the end" type of feeling.

The only plus side I can think of that will come from the absolute sanitation of the internet is that some Bomalian is going to go on their free iPhone issued by the UK Government and realise he can't browse porn tonight so will go out and sink his cock into a 12 year old schoolgirl, ensuring that we get our Summer of Love 2.0

Shh, i like not having to use TOR or vpn's
Be careful and learn some OPSEC. Your ISP is legally required to hand over any and all of your Internet activity over to police, and police follow "hate-speech" laws which are set by the Conservatives and Labour.

Lucy Connolly had her life ruined and over 3 years in prison because she wrote:
Mass deportation now, set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care, while you're at it take the treacherous government & politicians with them.
I feel physically sick knowing what these families will now have to endure.
If that makes me racist, so be it.
If there's anything in your post history that's even nearly at the same level as that then you could lose 2 - 5 years of your life in a prison as well as having a permanent criminal record because you wrote some words on the Internet.

A 'Black Swan' refers to an event that usually hasn't happened before, is unexpected and therefore difficult to prepare against. In the course of time, however, and with hindsight it's then easier to see how it could have been avoided.

The biggest 'Black Swan' event of my lifetime happened on September 11th 2001 - nobody (at least 99.9% of us) knew what was coming on that fateful day when the Twin Towers were struck.

Rumsfeld's comments about 'unknown unknowns' means that we don't know what the event will be nor where it will take place.

I have my suspicions that it'll be one of the Lefty groups at a major Summer event - perhaps Notting Hill or at the Community Shield match at Wembley Stadium or perhaps even at the Reading or Leeds festivals.

Even if it's a bomb hoax, it'll scare people into panicking.

We're definitely at the Tinderbox stage.

Guido has a massive boner at the moment for the asylum freebies that councils are handing out, so collating a list here. They've made three posts since yesterday and even did an interview on GB News this morning. I don't think this summer is going to calm down.
  • Wandsworth council using £1.7 million of Ukraine/Afhan funds for asylum seekers to have art workshops, "training for asylum seekers facing persistent digital exclusion" (what does this mean?) as well as yoga and gardening classes! (link/archive)
  • Birmingham council (which is bankrupt and can't even collect bins as it has nearly £4 billion in debt) spent £8 million: 20% discount for swimming, 25% discount on swimming (lol), gymnastics, golf, football, trampolining and martial arts lessons as well as much more. (link/archive)
  • Wandsworth Borough Council and Lambeth Council are giving 50% off of e-bike rentals as well as £100 per child for school uniforms. (link/archive)
Downing Street also have their own spending problem. The demand for almond milk has increased since Labour won the general election last year. It's more than doubled! (link/archive).

I've highlighted all of the monetary values since this is what our hard-earned tax money is being spent on. Can't wait for the next budget when we'll be giving the government even more money to spend like this.

On washing machines, last year I got a "dumb" top loading machine. Over lockdown I had a broken washer and struggled to replace, I ended up getting a medium size twin tub off Amazon (I know, I know, Amazon bad) and really rated it, even for a machine that cost me just under £150.

There's no complex tech in it. I fill it with laundry, chuck in the detergent and let it go. It works a great and it drains way better than a front loader. Doesn't get fusty.

If you have the space for one I absolutely recommend.

washing machines,
"Refoam UK predicted to win general election landslide"

In more news that will make the Hisense Party nervous after a disastrous year in government, Refoam UK leader Nigel Farage today reacted to the news from polling company, YouSpin, that suggests that Refoam UK would become Prime Minister if a general election were held tomorrow, with spin cycle length and load size being the most important issues to voters.

"This shambles of a government have proved time and again that they're more of the same. Clothes aren't being washed on time, we're spending way too much time on each spin cycle and the Beko party are as washed-up as their policies. This Hisense government's net zero policies will take us back to the dark ages, washing our clothes in cold eco-friendly water."

Stupid shit aside, I'm in the market for a new washing machine so will keep this in mind, thanks. I panic bought a Beko new washine machine right before lockdown and it's starting to get really shitty.

They're certainly expected to 'clean up' at the next General Election in what should be a 'white wash'.

This reads as money laundering to me. They found a way to give their mates almost 2 million quid.
