A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Do you only get your news and sources from GBNews?Must be true!
Actually no: BBC, Guardian, GB News and Wales Online - often the odd independent or lesser-known media as well.

Just one example.

@ChunkySalsa I used to watch Ready Steady Cook and the old Mastrchef with Loyd Grossman, but I won't watch the pretentious crap shows like Bake Off today.

Who really wants to see Paul Hollywood rant over a 'soggy bottom'...

I can accept that you're telling me this in good faith, but the details I've shared about myself here are 100% substituted. I really don't live in London and I'm not a lecturer. I know what I'm doing. All that would happen is some troon would find and ruin the life of an innocent man or woman.
Plenty of farmers would see this as a challenge, idiot.
Shut the fuck up and be boring, because I don't believe a word of your obfuscations.

You're playing with fire. You're tempting someone to dox you to prove you're lying. Back away from the keyboard and let things rest.

What do they expect dwarves to do when pantos aren't running? There's only so many Snow white productions and they need to make money all year round. A channel 4 reality show and a crappy BBC drama diversity hire is only going to go so far. Leave the dwarves to entertain people however they see fit.

N'wah stop trying to scare people off just because you disagree with them it's cringe and gay.
I am not trying to scare people off. I'm trying to help an idiot getting themselves in hot water.

My true identity is Ms. Clarice Bean as per my profile photo, please don't get me sacked from my job as a fictional cartoon from a children's publication!

Whilst most people on here are fine and, for the most part, friendly and supportive you HAVE to be careful here.

A couple of people have politely pulled me aside and said 'don't overshare things - remember, we want you to be here but Starmer and others don't.'

Starmer and the UK state see anybody who oppose them (regardless of them being Left or Right) as credible threats to THEIR safety and just as much as they want to remove Palestine Action and Kneecap (both are tossers IMO, but both also have the right to freedom of speech) they'll remove us lot for being on a 'Far Right' website... even when some on here are not in any way 'Far Right' at all.

At a time when Labour are at their most despised and political weakest (with rumours now starting that Labour MP's could be set to vote against the November Budget) the powers-that-be will do anything to get a sacrificial lamb or two. None of us want this lamb to be you.

Myself, I don't care where you are in the world, as long as you're a decent person and can chime in with comments and we can have a decent 'back and fore'. I do care if you are putting a target on your head which people would aim at.

I saw a few Brits getting into trouble and getting wellness checks over using Sanctioned Suicide.

I use a VPN, is that generally not considered enough to hide from 2 tier Kier?

Ross Ulbricht used a VPN and other software to try and stay safe from the cops, didn't work out for him.

The Police have technology way above VPN's and if they deem you to be a 'person of interest' then they'll find you and having Proton, Nord or whatever won't stop your street being filled up with cop cars and the shout of 'ARMED POLICE!' coming out.

I'm not sure if you are old enough to remember the 80s game show called 'Interceptor' but think as yourself as one of the contestants trying to prevent the Interceptor from finding you and 'zapping' you.

If you get 'zapped' then you win nothing and, unlike the game, not winning the cash prize will be the least of your problems especially with Starmer keen to jail any dissenters.

If you'd like proof, then I have heard that the owner of The Depot in Cardiff (a performance arts venue) has today received a letter from HM Government 'strongly advising' that Kneecap's performance there in the Autumn is cancelled immediately. Kneecap, love them or loathe them, made a statement that 'Starmer can't stop us' and now it's looking as if Starmer is going to try by any means to do just this.

Do you think he'd care if Mo Charra or whatever he's called is imprisoned?

Oh, how about paying the bent cops to put illegal porn on the band's digital devices or plant drugs in places where they live or visit? How about getting a 14 year old girl to try and chat them up etc?

Remember that the BBC will be given the story first as an exclusive and will then willfully obey the narrative - 'how many more victims' etc. even when the band are totally innocent.

Anything to win - even if it means cheating - that is the Government's resolve with us plebs.

I can't make you make decisions on what you do, nor would I, but a bit of safety first never hurt.

The government is honestly the least of your worries; during the Vordrak saga there was an (utterly unenforceable lol) 10k civil judgement for "hurt feelings" obtained against an anon forum user by a (terrorist) lolcow, if you piss off the right wrong person they will try to fuck with you. Another case in point is Fat Tony, who to this day fucks with Caroline Farrow because he's a fat tranny nonce and doesn't like her, going so far as to false flag data leaks and call in bullshit police reports.

The glowies can and will get you by better means than your own TMIposting anyway.
If gchq really really want to find you they will find you regardless of vpns and I think rhey can get through tor as well. They are also fairly busy, so unless you really get on their nerves for some reason you’re probably not getting the higher ups to sign off on finding you.

Tor is better.

The government will get you if they want you no matter what. You're always guilty of something and they're always ready to bend the rules.

The reason for Opsec here is the forum members dox people for sport. Your dox being on here means bad actors can take it and try to ruin your life independent of the government. They will try to get you fired, target your family members and make it so when you're searched for online you look unemployable. They will target your social media accounts with mass police reports until the police go after you just to shut them up.

Big brother needs every able bodied man, woman and child to act as spies and informants. Don't assume because the authorities aren't looking for you that the spies aren't. If they can find you and your hard drive full of Hitler memes you're an ideal 24 hour cover story for when Labour fucks something up again and needs to a distraction.

Self preservation for the thread matters. If the troons looking for farmers get a win over one of us it encourages them to look for more. By making it difficult for them to go after any of us, it makes them less likely to go after the rest of the group. Welsh lad does a good job of posting the news here and we don't want him banging up.

Right, so you're a mentally ill, tinfoil conspiracy theorist. Wish I knew that before I wasted my time humoring you.

Since there seem to, for some reason, be other people here just as schizophrenically paranoid as you and for some reason corroborate your extreme beliefs, I'll follow the advice and start a new account.

conspiracy theorist
I used to make fun of them too, till it all started coming true.
'member when mass migration wasn't a real thing, then the broken clock did it thing, and all of sudden it's a super serious issue we're actualley allowed to talk about in public?
Same deal with the tainted blood/post office horizon/parliamentary expenses scandals, none of it could ever possibly be real till it is, they aren't always thankfully, but it happens too much for it not to be an observable phenomena IMO.

He got caught browsing the fucking site at a public library because he involved himself in a domestic argument between two undercover operatives posing as a couple. Stupidity is what done him in, the tech was sound.

See, I gave up after the blatant Nadia Hussain psy op. She was the shittest baker the entire season, and if I recall correctl,y one of the best bakers that season made ONE ERROR and that was their cake fell off the counter but was servable. This was the 5th round too, so early in and Nadia got star baker and they went. It was rigged as fuck! Her cakes are shit too, look at this shit;

Bakeoff: The Professionals is where it's at. Regular Bakeoff is just pablum entertainment interspersed with Paul Hollywood wondering if maybe he wasn't actually happier as a professional Hotel chef.

The Professionals shows some absolutely amazing stuff that makes your jaw drop. Interspersed with boring sugar sculpture and Cherise going "It did blow me away!"
