A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

A protest outside a migrant hotel erupted into violence after anti-immigration campaigners clashed with 'anti-racism' demonstrators.

The Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, descended into bloody mayhem as activists brawled on the streets - while police battled to contain the chaos.

Hundreds of people had rallied outside the venue after a 38-year-old African asylum seeker was accused of committing three sexual assaults - nine days after allegedly arriving in the UK illegally by boat.

Police were forced to break up a fight between two men as large crowds jeered, with some shouting: 'F***ing nonce', 'f*** off back to Walthamstow' and 'paedos'.

The outburst of disorder ignited on Sunday evening, with shocking footage appearing to show one man bleeding heavily from his head as he limped to the hotel.

'Go home you c***, go home. F*** off back on your boat and go,' one man is heard screeching as the injured male hobbles his way past a line of police officers.

Funny thing about this one:

A rent-a-mob "refugees welcome here" brigade showed up with all their pre printed signs from the socialist workers party of the UK. Naturally none of these people were local and were all bussed in from the usual metropolitan (lib shit) areas. Turns out that the locals weren't too fond of these people showing up and demanding they house these immigrants and that sexual assaults were just part of the deal. So they started harassing the commies and later ripped up all their signs which shortly after they all began to flee into their mini buses before the locals decided to lynch them all.

Love to see it when these fags don't get treat with kiddies gloves and the public has a chance to show exactly what everyone thinks of them and their attempts to force these wogs upon them.

My question is how did this data breach in the first place? From what I am reading it was "released in error" back in 2022 but what does "released in error" mean? It clearly wasn't obtained through a hack (something we seem to be very weak to) and it wasn't something obtained through covert. On top of all that how was this list even in a position it could be leaked? You would think this would be no where near somewhere that could leak it to the public and not, for example on the ministry of defences public google drive or something.

Going to go out on a whim and say some idiot at the ministry of defence attached the list in an email and clicked reply all.

I’m reading about this now. A super injunction in place to stop the public knowing about it because they fear riots. NONE of these people will contribute to the UK. Maybe a handful out of all of then will be useful. And the government, who are supposed to be elected by the people to work for the benefit of rhe people, keep it secret because they know they’re acting against the people.
Our rulers hate us. This is treasonous. How much more are people supposed to take?

Oh is that the reason for the "fuck off back to Walthamstow"? Makes sense as that place really is a shitlib infested pile.

I read somewhere recently Starmer is hoping the summer recess will calm things down and people will forget. I'll have whatever some of he is on. Country is up the shitter and our elected leaders are fucking off for over a month on their hollibobs and putting it all on expenses.

Just heard on the news. There's 1 million foreign born people on universal credit.

I know where we cut the benefits from first. We can save at least 500 million a year in 1 easy rule change. No benefits for foreigners.

Honestly, in some ways I'd prefer to take in the Afghanis who didn't sell out their own country to foreign invaders. Even if the foreign invaders were us.
