I, for one, am not going to sit here and take economic advice from someone who's fucked every financial endeavor she's ever engaged in into the ground, and I'm going to take a brief moment to drag her argument out back and grind it into the dirt until it cries. Enjoy, Kiwis.

This horse-shit with budgets gone berserk wasn't the fault of the fucking consumer, it was the work of the big publishers and everyone fucking knows it.

The consumer, Brianna, is not the motherfucker who said that Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, and Hitman: Absolution were financial failures despite selling over 1.5 million for Sleeping Dogs, damn near 3.5 million for Tomb Raider, and close to 4 million for Hitman. The consumer is not the fucking reason Capcom sold over five million copies of Resident Evil 6 and still considered it a goddamned failure, nor is it the reason that fucking Dead Space 3 would have to fucking violate the laws of reality as we know them for EA to make back what it spent on that fucking game.

Assholes like Wu love to trot out the "Well we had to spend so much money, so we have to make it all back!" and expect that shit to be a justification. Nobody fucking held a gun to these publishers' heads and forced them to go balls-out with fucking ridiculous budgets and zero self-restraint. The consumer doesn't fucking care about the fact that they're sinking in enough money to buy small island nations in the south pacific hoping to latch onto and be the biggest thing since Call of Duty. They care about game quality and fuck all else.

And the thing is? We have plenty of evidence of it. Minecraft has sold fucking gangbusters despite being little more than a 3D shitty-graphics Lego simulator. Dark Souls sold millions of copies and made back like 6 times its fucking spent budget. Wayforward does a fucking happy-dance every time its games hit a 100K milestone, because they spent their money effectively, didn't waste money going for celebrity voices and the newest engines and instead focused on making actually good fucking games.

Even if it's old, I still love reading it. It's funny to know that even if she's changed her identity, she was and always will be an unstable, compulsive lying laughing stock that no sane human being could ever take seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a legit gender bias issue at Microsoft.

But I would be even less surprised if this is another SJW-inspired money-grab that will, instead, lead to a shitty precedent when they lose the suit and end up having to pay the other side's costs.
