Appearing in Playboy* - what greater "achievement" is there for someone purportedly fighting the objectification of women, eh, John?

I think the piece goes really well with the "Popular Video" at the bottom entitled "Watch a Couple of Hot Girls Oil Wrestle Because... Why Not?"

Or it might go better with the "Most Popular" video entitled "15 Hilarious Bikini Fails We Can't Stop Watching".

* "Appearing in Playboy" in Johnspeak is, here in reality, simply being mentioned in a blog blurb on playboy.com. Actually "appearing in Playboy" - as it's commonly understood to mean - is too horrifying to imagine.
Hypocrite Wu.jpg

Make your own Hypocrite Wu!

Past, not passed. Passed implies her nature isn't blatently obvious to anyone with eyes.
I've been speaking English for 18 years and I still get those two messed up sometimes. And you spelled "Blatantly" wrong.

Yeah, being mentioned on a magazine's website isn't the same as "appearing in" that magazine. Does anyone even buy Playboy anymore?
It's a bit like MTV. It used to be a big thing but time has moved on and it is a relic of the past. People look back at it with nostalgia and maybe reference it now and then but it has no real place in the modern world.

So, about BriBri in Playboy. I decided to do some digging and quickly realized that the writer, Katriel Paige, has a Patreon. Cursory investigation revealed that Anna Megill (another of the six on her list), is both a major financier on said Patreon, and an employee of Brianna Wu. I then was about to go and show this to KIA and 8chan, only to learn that I had been beaten to the punch (damn it!) and that the two had been involved for some time again:

KotakuInAction said:
So the author Katriel is backed by dev Anna Megill through Patreon

The author includes dev Megill in her list of "6 women whipping the video game industry into place" on Playboy here

https://archive.is/eLmHh#selection-1953.3-1953.14

But doesn't disclose that she's getting paid by said dev here (albeit a minor sum, she's only using the account to back her)

https://archive.is/CSmE9#selection-663.1-663.12

As can be seen in her article, Brianna Wu is also on the list. Brianna Wu is employing dev Anna Megill.

The author tried explaining that she started backing her AFTER the article went live (which would also be weird, to start recieving money from someone you included in an article less than 8 hours before) in this tweet

https://archive.is/HKpVP

But as can be seen here https://archive.is/hnZ2W#selection-1009.0-1009.13 the dev started paying her on June 25, more than two weeks ago. Also confirmed by this tweet

https://archive.is/EUx5R

"BUT IT'S A SMALL SUM!!1"

The game dev was also backing the author on a game she was making herself called Die Nachtblume

https://archive.is/ICdNy#selection-2029.41-2029.67

And might have donated to her to go to MAGfest

https://archive.is/HbbLm

They have a friendly relation as well, with tweets of them going back as long ago as April 2013

https://archive.is/Ilgci https://archive.is/qJsaz (I'm sure you'll more dirt in these haven't had time to read it all, so please do!)

Even mentioning they've "helped" each other

https://archive.is/GpulV

Funny enough the author also included Depression Quest as no.1 in her list of "7 games that will make you a better person"

https://archive.is/v5Azw#selection-1973.0-1973.18

Thanks to /u/YESmovement for the original link to the article and /u/middlekelly for the Patreon heads up

EDIT: Article has been updated with a disclosure - http://i.imgur.com/kLwCD2q.png

GamerGate saves the day once again!

TL;DR: Wu only got in this article because she's friends and financially supporting her, Gamergate exposes it, Wu's still a joke.

Seems appropriate for a transsexual and a writer for Playboy to be part of a massive circlejerk.

I had the gut feeling she payed for it to be honest, like every other "achievement" in her life.

Well, there you have it. Only mentally ill people buy/ride Honda CBR1000 Fireblades. (or is it a 600 supersport, hard to tell since all the Japanese bikes look the same,)

Also, who the fuck reads the Playboy nowadays when there are tons of other, better Nude-Art sites (e.g. Hegre, Met Art and co.) where 90% of the models are natural, beautiful Eastern European women without gaudy tattoos and terrible attitudes. There is a reason why Playboy had to expand and make awfully cheap perfumes and deodorants

// it's a CBR600RR according to her twatter and judging from the exhaust, but there are people who mod their exhausts so it's sometimes difficult to tell. (superbike to supersport exhausts are quite common)

And put eyelashes to their motorcycles...

1.In retrospect, do you realize how she making it about herself? And the guy just said it was tough we had a lot of people, we couldn't fit everyone in.

2.Actually he doesn't think that, you thinks he do. Not only that, you stated yesterday that the only way for women to reach the top of the industry is by pandering to the male dominated companies. And you don't have to deal with any of this so don't say you do, you have your own studio, crappy but still your own.

And no its not on him togo out of his way to select specifically women, god you are fucking retarded John.

I feel I lost some IQ points while reading those Twitter threads. Leaving aside Wu making this all about herself, and Sue being a tone trolling retard, does anyone who complains about a lack of representation ever have the credentials or relevancy to be considered for a panel? Seems Black's gigs are about writing a tech support column for a tabloid newspaper and giving talks aimed encouraging end-users to use social media and to have self-confidence. I'm sure she's good at what she does but it doesn't seem to fit in to an enterprise-themed conference.

And ho ho for Wu leveraging her experience in the games industry. One mediocre game and a Twitter obsession does not industry experience make and certainly isn't relevant to enterprise markets.

1. That's not it, but of course you would try to make it about gender issues. The guy better do a good job or he screws his career over, considering who he is in movie and what he has to live up to. But you just want to give an actress a medal for playing a female role...

It's almost like there's a problem with ethics in journalism or something.

This.... I know it's so off topic but I got so tired of playboy being filled with a bunch of anna nicole smith look alikes... and then one who didn't bleach her hair and optionally a black, hispanic, or asian chick thrown in for good measure.

I still don't understand the implied mentality of your typical post 60s/pre-internet porn viewer.
