...Wu's been shilling stuff a lot lately...
She's trying to look super busy busy busy because she wasn't invited to the Google thing so suddenly being a developer is more important than being a speaker despite her barely mentioning development in months.

Fun fact: This "Women in Tech" thing Wu bleats on about incessantly? Categorically disproven in the same fashion as the wage gap. It's solely because feminists want to drive out what they see as another bastion of Nerd Culture (and we all know what hipsters like the usual suspects feel about Nerd Culture).

If you have to tell people you’re a nerd, chances are you’re not. Nerds don’t have to advertise their status. We know. Being a nerd is a byproduct of losing yourself in what you do, often at the expense of friends, family and hygiene. Until or unless you’ve paid your dues, you haven’t earned the right—or reason—to call yourself a nerd. Being a nerd isn’t graceful or glorious. It’s a life born out of obsessive dedication to a craft, discipline or collecting some stupid shit that only you care about.

If you think geeks are so sexy or cool, bang one. Go to any university and find a computer or physics lab at 2AM and take your pick. Until then, go commit cultural fraud someplace else, and take your phony ‘I f–king love science’ group with you.

That's another reason that Wu will never have success with her feminist buddies, by the way - she's just as much a nerd as the people she claims to despise, and no amount of back-peddling is going to remove her collection of Final Fantasy figures, Star Trek collectibles, or My Little Pony merch from her shelves.

EDIT: More updates today. We're close, Kiwis.

Well I don't think her being a nerd is what's hurting her chances, I think it's the fact she isn't "nerdy" enough. Like you said she does collect figurines, she watches star trek, and she does seem to enjoy playing games. But her tastes in those subjects are the problem here. She plays games, but the only things she plays for more than a few minutes are mindless puzzle games on iphone, and while she does seem to enjoy sci fi she strictly only enjoys movies and shows that feature an almost exclusively femal cast regardless of whether it's actually good or not like with her hailing the star trek series with the female captain and the third terminator as the best of their franchises because of the female cast despite the fact that both are widely considered the shittiest installments by most other fans. And this is the reason she's doing horribly in her career, she's trying her best to succeed in a field where people expect openess and innovation, while her works are made solely to appeal to her own simple and outright shallow tastes.
She wants to make a widely successful game with a deep story and all, but since she rarely plays anything more complex than fucking peggle she simply doesn't realize what it takes to make a game that's complex and fun with a very deep, emotional story. She thinks that combat sequences and having characters die and betray eachother in her story is sufficient enough for that. Basically what I'm saying is she's trying to make it in a field that she has little to no knowledge about.

Is John Carmack at Occulus Connect?, part of me wants something like this to happen to John Flynt if the Occulus Team doing an Q&A:

I agree with this one hundred percent. I have seen this very thing happen in the comic industry in the nineties. It almost destroyed marvel and DC at the time and gave rise to independent publishers. For which a part of me was glad that happened. Because honestly if marvel would caved to those fucks back them. You wouldn't have spawn, witchblade, the max, or walking dead. It seems that john needs to take a tip from those indy publishers from so long ago. Sex and violence sells, period. No amount of shame from the patron saint of victimhood, Saint Anita is going to change that. Because honestly who wants to play a black women who does nothing but walk around a apartment all day? (sunset) When you can play a masked psychopath wielding a baseball bat. (hotline Miami) Compare the numbers and it becomes quite clear. Why do you think triple AAA publishers like konami or EA or Activison keep putting out the stuff that they do? Because it sells.

That's just being a sperg, though. She may be a nerd, but she's no geek.

Having just watched that, I'll admit, it does look halfway decent (some of the effects aren't too shabby) to a degree, but my inner game software user has the following questions:

Why does everything look like it's locked to 15 FPS?

Why does the dialogue sound so forced, not to mention the pacing more wooden than a log cabin?

And most of all, why does the whole scene looked so telegraphed and cliche? I could literally see everything that was going to happen seconds before it did.

The physics on the bike look really bad at points in that vid. I'm not saying it has to be ultra realistic out of some academic need...BUT the motion of the bike just looks phony and breaks the "willing suspension of disbelief" - pull you out of the cinematic moment like if you see a boom mic in the top of a shot

That gif really shows how much Flynt designed the trannies in Rev60 to be her self-inserts. I used to think they were just badly designed, but now I can see they are modeled off of their creator right down to the creepy cheekbones.

I think you nailed it there (regardless of the gender identity issues). She's made the characters, esp the leads, way too fantasy auto-biographical.
You can kind of see the attempted convergence with the characters and her (at least public facing) life....like the press photos she released ("for free use" -- so kind of her) posing with her sportbike.

It's just another cliche' "I'm a kick ass motorcycle grrrrllll". It's the same kind of power fantasy that "dudebros" get accused of having.

ADDENDUM : I didn't realize that Chelsea Van Quinnenburg now rides a motorbike as well

It's bad when Reboot of all things looks better than something coming out in 2015(maybe)

So, John, how much do you get paid for all these unethical promotional tweets for the products of white male cishet shitlords?

It's a real mystery as to why actual females shun you.

really!?! playing with a trophy in an advert like that is some of the tackiest self-aggrandizement I've seen in a long long while.

Politics aside they are just tasteless, graceless people

Aaaand.... Right in the Wiki. I was looking for a reason to add Frank to this. Looks like I finally got one!

The one upside of John making an ongoing ass of himself, aside from the humor value, is a light being put on the POS known as Frank Wu and people getting their first, very limited taste of what a phony and horrible person he is.

Perhaps whatever shred of conscience might still be clinging to life within him is secretly enjoying the public shaming now that he's given exposure outside his limited scifi circle.
