Sugar sounds like some kind of sci-fi villain. Like, they start off as an amorphous blob that has no characteristics whatsoever until they start leeching off of surrounding people and slowly assimilating them until said blob becomes a monstrous mishmash of stolen traits.

The fact that they have a million goddamned aliases is evidence of that enough.

Christ, this person is creepy. Just look at the bizarre variation of art styles on all those terrible OCs (as well as all those terrible fucking labels). It's so obvious they're just sponging off of whatever the current Big Name is doing. Having seen some other TF2 artists I can pick up on some of the styles I'm seeing too, which makes it all the creepier.

This is all making me glad I haven't been heavily involved in the TF2 fandom in several years. Looks like it's only gotten worse since I left. I was considering coming back but seeing the people currently at the forefront... I think I may pass.

I think he's supposed to have a buzzcut and freckles. Canon Engineer has a very close shave and no freckles, but Sugar seems to have a thing for redheads with freckles.

I didn't produce any content back in my TF2 days (aside from OC stuff but no one really cares about that), but I did a lot of lurking on TF2chan and certain circles of Tumblr back before things got too crazy. I can't say I remember Sugar completely but the name does sound familiar. Were they called something else back then? Can't really identify them by their art because it's such a clusterfuck of styles from about a dozen different artists.

I knew Sugar before the days of tumblr, the incident in which they forced me to rp mpreg with them was before tumblr and in a skype group, and I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that they were indeed this crazy. They manipulated and guilted an entire group of people (like 9 or 12 of us) to the point that we were all scared to talk to each other because they'd tell each individual person ( including myself) in our group in separate chats that
" oh this one person just hates your guts "
" they're only pretending to like you"
" They told me themselves that they dislike you "
and or they would make up some shit about what exactly we hated about someone.
It was nerve racking and we were all always scared of fucking up.
Scared of the people we admired in our group because we thought we all hated each other secretly because of this person.
It completely murdered our self esteem to even so far as venture into conversation, because god, what if I say something stupid and they all hate me even more.

Anyone who behaves this way is a social monster, especially if they do this to children. I don't care how mentally ill you are - it's NOT okay!

Latest handle they used on TF2chan was Red Eye Jedi, but Hoofies was also pretty common.

TF2chan has been pretty much a ghost town anyway.

No, Walter Kovacs. Early when DocScuttleButt knew Sugar, Sugar got super into Watchmen because Doc was a big fan of Watchmen at the time.

Pretty much anything Sugar has an interest in, it's to be assumed that Sugar got into it because somebody they wanted to leech off of was a fan.

This is very true, I loved watchmen a lot and still very much do, and when they noticed I liked it at the time they immediately wanted to rp it with me, but wouldn't let me be Rorschach ( the character I excitedly wanted to roleplay) and instead told me I could only be Dan/Nite Owl.
Which was extremely disappointing.
And what proceeded in that rp was the most out of character Rorschach I'd ever seen, he dropped the F bomb, and liked rock and roll. *shakes my head*
It was a complete embarrassment to the whole character.

They at the time never watched the movie but got super attached to Rorschach because Rorschach/Walter Kovacs was my favorite character.

And then the mpreg happened. Now I kinda want to explain that they used this mpreg of their spy character to hold it over my own character so I couldn't rp with anyone else.
If I so much as dared to rp with anyone else is would result in a lash out in private or in public, it didn't matter.
I couldn't have rp relationships ( this includes friendships, enemies, or anything inbetween) because they thought I'd cheat on their spy character.
WHICH IRONICALLY THEY USED THEIR SPY CHARACTER TO HIT ON AND SLEEP AROUND WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S CHARACTERS.

I ended up getting so disgusted and upset with my own character and myself having to deal with these things and being nothing more than a romance interest to them, that I offed my character by having his story end where he gets fucking crushed in an industrial printing press, because god, i couldn't fucking take it anymore and I felt like I was being crushed.

AND WHEN THIS HAPPENED THEY WHINED ABOUT HOW " NO YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM DIE WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS " and swear to christ that sentence will stick to me for the rest of my life, because basically what they were saying was I couldn't let a character I loved die and escape this perpetual hell that you set out for them. I couldn't escape this perpetual hell.

Also would like to note that i see mpreg as extremely transphobic because of them and the way they rp'd it, and at the time I was closeted and just having to rp that made me fell so much fucking disgust for my own fucking body.

For anyone who wasn't amongst the masses that chose to jump ship from tumblr nor the idiotic mass of crap like the one this thread's on, that's pretty much the one reason anyone stays on anymore. The place is horribly toxic, racist, sexist whatever else but at the same time... you know some people on there who are really cool or good at art or you've got a bunch of followers who may only be on tumblr. Kinda stick around because you wanna keep in contact with some people and to be fair to some of the others, y'know?

Forgive me for getting a little emotional here, but it's hard to overstate how sad it is to me that people like this now pretty much rule the TF2 scene. TF2 was the fandom that inspired me to step up my game with writing. The writers in the community (which includes Meowthkip) helped me finally start to develop characters that I really liked that were well-rounded, and helped me grow as an artist, to the point where I want to start writing actual, published literature soon. Many of my friends broke through their animu-style phases and grew in their own drawn art thanks to the amazing artists and environment that encouraged constructive criticism. It's thanks to this fandom that I found my spouse.

But now it's basically yet another spergtastic oversensitive Tumblr fandom owned and ran by leeches and attention whores. Many of the awesome people either jumped ship or went crazy themselves. Even if this particular person was around before Tumblr, the new environment allowed their kind to really flourish, to where they could be at the forefront instead of just the fringe.

Sorry for that. This thread just makes me sad and longing for a time that once was.

But, Yeah, sugar's just in it to steal what they want from other people like a social leech, all they want is free art, rps and someone to manipulate.
They'll start making art for you to get on your good side and then later on act like you owe them something in return and then they take what they want and then ditch you when it becomes convenient for them.

....You know, far be it from me to make fun of people's fetishes, considering the fact that I've played through Monmusu Quest a few thousand times, and given that I can kind of understand the meta behind that fetish from a purely ontological viewpoint, but did you notice that Sugar's bullshit is, to put it simply, beyond exceptionally creepy about this stuff? He's like an abusive spouse in regards to the parents of his ass chamber children, and he'll do anything possible to keep them locked down and under his control. Small wonder he's an ally of Vade and Aura's. Also, you're correct in thinking there's transphobic or even misogynistic elements to how Sugar portrays it; the more modern versions popularized on the tubernets are kind of well-known for it, to the point where Oglaf openly made fun of it (NSFW as hell; also hilarious). Earlier versions essentially began with trans people, and if I explain any further I'll be reciting shit from my sociology classes I took.

Yeah, I'd heard that info from the link before, and it helps me get through those sad spells where I think Tumblr has sapped my enjoyment of a lot of things. It helps to know a lot of other people are getting sick of it, too.

Also totally agree with the mpreg thing. Mpreg seems to be a magnet for gross, offensive people for some reason. Probably because I don't think I've ever seen anyone who finds the process itself hot, but rather is attracted to TEH HAWT YAOIZ but also thinks a relationship isn't ~real~ without biological children. So that's two gross attitudes coming together to create something twice as gross. I could be wrong but that's what I've seen.

This sounds exactly correct. They are like an abusive spouse. I'm so very glad I do not know them any more. And haven't spoken to them in years. In a way I'm glad they've forgotten about me, but I worry about my friends interactions with them because they too get anxiety and when so much as seeing Sugar's art or name pop up, just as I do.

I am absolutely appalled that Sugar has yet to let go of a grudge for 6 whole years on my friend and it bothers me greatly that they keep demanding an apology for abuse that never actually happened to them. And they'll use a blanket apology not an actually apology because they feel like they never had anything to apologize for.

To quote Mars in that apology letter:
"HE CAN ONLY REMEMBER WHEN HE WAS 7" If that were fucking true then why the hell hasn't he let go of a grudge for 6 years? why the hell does he remember my friend to put the blame on for abuse that never happened? Why pin me as a vicious rumor and then turn right back around and acknowledge that I exist? ( There is evidence of this but I'd have to ask before I can show it because it is not my evidence to share as of yet.)
