Has anyone here watched Sentenced to Be The Hero of whatever it's called? I like the art style but don't know if it's just preemo bait to lure me into isekai sloppa

It's really good, the pacing is both steady and quick, the animation is fantastic throughout, the characters are well written and lovable, and the setting is somewhat interesting. Honestly can't recommend it highly enough.

I thought it was painfully stupid when Main Character flashbacked to the time it took him 15 min to realize that he was sent on the worlds most obvious suicide mission and then was shocked when he was sentenced by the people that sent him on that mission to be an immortal doomed to do suicide missions. I watched a few episodes past that and it didn't get more crushingly stupid then that but it didn't get much better either. From what I saw it came across as some kind of Attack of the Last of Us with a poorly defined magic system. 7/10 animation though.

AFAIK not isekai, just generic apocalypse industrial era setting with light magic.

I dropped it when it just became a typical slice of life manga and kept piling on the yuribait. I dunno if it's still the case, but last I checked it was barely about Tomoko anymore and just about her stupid classmates.
That reminds me of when I was watching Oriemo, thinking it was a nice comfy slice of life anime then suddenly in came the incest romance angle that blindsided me.

Anime Michael Jackson
