I feel the newish posters to this thread are falling into the trap of "If Beckly and/or ALR say something, they're fucking stupid idiots and completely wrong, hurr hurr. Stupid fuckin' lefties." Well, most of the time they
are regurgitating BS, but there's often a grain of truth there. Tubal ligations and hysterectomies are disproportionately difficult to get for women, which they shouldn't be. As mentioned by YFWP, there are far too many cases of women suffering
horrendously from fibroids who are denied a hysterectomy because they'll "lose their fertility". Look, these women don't give two fucks about their fertility when they literally cannot move from the pain and are bleeding through bath towels, but they're denied because
hypothetical bayyybeeees. The same is true for tubal ligations. Good luck finding a doctor in many parts of the US who will sterilize a woman who's made a conscious and considered decision NOT to have children, because, y'know, "you'll change your mind". It doesn't matter their age, they'll be told they don't know their own mind and don't actually know what they want. Oh, but what if they regret it? Well, women without kids have the lowest rate of regret (approx 6%; see the CREST study) among all sterilizations performed. See, if you're a teenager, you can shit out a dozen kids you can't care for, and nobody will say boo. You're 30 and want a tubal because you've made an informed decision on your reproductive health? LOL, you're too young sweetie, you'll change your mind.
By all means rate me

, I kind of deserve it. However, I've been part of a field where I've observed this type of bias for years. It's real, it exists, and it's not okay. Unfortunately, I'd rather not have it coming from the mouths of sentient thumb hicks like Necky, because it diminishes the veracity of the situation.
