it is tempting to just assume death by FAT every time she goes dark for a week. it's not outside the realm of possibility. But really she always comes back a few pounds heavier and more boring than ever each time.
 
The odd youtube glitch, the week or so long silence along with complete social media silence is something Amber has not done since August last year. Its not out the ordinary for her to go really dark but she does it to maximise her attention. Amber thinks and gives the illusion of being devious but her plan will back fire, Fuck me's financial analysis is very good in September she probably spent 6k in Sept, Personally I think near 8k.

Her views for October are low as heck and pay day is the 21st but the lower views mean a lower income. Amber's plan to evade hospital bills will not be kind because she either pays them or risks a decimated credit rating which when you are on (becky will bail as soon as the youtube train is over.)

She is getting 4k tops and the spending she is doing means she has to produce "content". She has done nothing to liven hers up in 7 years she has a Macbook pro and does nothing to better her quality has one of the best vlog cameras and poorly uses it, if not at all. She is skating each month on the lake of relevancy, christ even Chantel is too.

The Amber "struggling" arch is interesting as heck.

Amber has two raison d'êtres: getting enough food and having accommodation. With each of her girlfriends, including Becky, they came with food and accommodation. Everything she does relate to this. As you said, by being dark, she tries to maximize her attention so to optimize her income from YouTube. She did it last year and it worked beautifully. She hates to vlog every day since it requires a bit of effort. Like last year, she will film a bunch of nonsense that will last for weeks and it will drive some people crazy.
 
I dont know if its been said but I just saw that Youtube updated their tos and promoting or glorifying eating disorders is now in their nono list so?

Looked it up out of curiosity and it says (under Eating Disorders): Content that praises, glorifies, or encourages viewers to imitate anorexia or other eating disorders. Eating disorders are characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits which negatively affect a person's health.

I do think ALR would fall under this because how the fuck is eating take out and candy bars DAILY when you clearly weigh 600 pounds not considered “disturbed eating habits”?

Maybe she would have to worry about it if she was still doing mukbangs but she's just been doing "vlogs" and hauls lately so she's probably fine.

I agree. Besides mukbangs, she will need to avoid doing "cook with me", "eat with me", and food hauls. This is quite of reduction in her repertoire. Since she is not vlogging about her weight and health, it means that she will be left with Halloween hauls, Thanksgiving hauls, Christmas hauls, etc, and insane conversations with Becky.

interesting, makes you wonder what will happen to all of the mukbangers (like Nick Avacado) and real anorexics like eugenia cooney. Maybe AL knew this was coming and that's why she stopped with the mukbangs. Will her old mukbangs be demonetized now?

anyway, it's safe to say AL is ok. (unless she died) after her cancer scare we know if she had any health problems she'd be making a crying videos for the views.
 
This was rumoured for some time to be coming into force but I cannot remember an origin point. It is curious that Youtube do it before the lucrative months too which is very interesting. I think Amber will try and do that patreon if its anything like Nick's its shit.

Her past content is done over with I expect an Amber chimp out in coming.

So what does it mean to praise or glorify an eating disorder, within the context of YouTube and who is determining whether or not content is in violation of this? Is being an obese vlogger considered praising or glorifying if there’s no effort being made to lose weight? Or is it only food-related content? Or only unhealthy food related content? Is there a weight threshold that someone has to be under in order to not be in violation? If a skinny person does a mukbang, is it a violation?

It feels like it’s intentionally vaguely worded to encompass everything and nothing so YouTube can say they’re dealing with the problem.

It's not like there's a negative connotation to her lifestyle either. If you're able to look past the flesh mounds you see someone who quite literally sits on her ass and eats all day without having to work for the thousands of dollars she casually spends on useless garbage. You don't see the sleep apnea, you don't see the rotting flesh and leaking legs, you don't see the inability to sit on a toilet, and you certainly don't see the handfuls of medications she shovels in her mouth to mitigate the havoc she's wreaking on her body. If you take her content at face value it might seem attractive to laze around and consume all day. Lord knows she tries her best to make it look like her day to day is comparable to a celebrity.

Others have talked about how YouTube's policies are inconsistent and that "glorifying" is very vague. I also think "glorifying" is a fairly useless term, and I agree that watching Amber does not "glorify" obesity.

I think the comparison to watching a heroin addict shoot up is apt. And heroin itself had that whole phase where people thought any media that portrayed it, and all those "heroin chic" waif-thin models, were "glorifying" it. But like, Trainspotting didn't glorify heroin use IMO. It did make people fascinated with it. So maybe that's a better way to frame it. Mukbangers create a fascination with obesity, and get a ton of attention, but it's not "glorifying" attention. It's trainwrecky, gawking, disgusted, shaming, "thank god I'm not that bad" negative attention. Some YouTubers are narcissists to begin with, and narcissists don't usually care if they're getting positive or negative attention.

Anyway, I think demonetization of obese mukbangers is ethical and right, but I don't know how YouTube could go about doing it without a bunch of unintended consequences for other YouTubers. It's one of those things where it's really hard to pinpoint exactly what is harmful and how it's harmful, but it's easy to see that Amber has blown way past any reasonable definition of "harmful."

I don't think a heroin user should be able to get ad money for making videos of themselves shooting heroin, and I don't think Amber should get paid to destroy her body for others' entertainment-- even if she knows fully well what she's doing, even if she is the one choosing to do it with nobody compelling her, and even if she's going to destroy her body anyway. It's just icky.

There is a grey area, I think, of letting people upload what they want to YouTube and letting the free market sort it out, as it were. But I also think YouTube is right to try and draw the line somewhere before they're making bank on people self-harming. That line may have already been crossed a long time ago, though.

So after a few days after the glitch on advertising I revisited Amber I wanted to see if it was a glitch or not. Something has definitely happened. So I went back 2 years. I am in the UK but I don't think that affects the ads truly. So first off most of her vlogmas videos have been demonetised which is odd but there are some weird ones for me with no ads (decluterring my house and truth about my weightloss doctor also a lot of the pride that never was vids.)

I went through a random 70 and in total I got 7 of the full screen ads. About 30% no ads and the rest had the banner ads but about 3 - 4 per video. I don't think the TOS update is in full swing yet though they usually give a week or 2 grace period. This is pretty big though, Alex is shook said nothing happened but it clearly has and he is nothing but a whiny faggot that does no research.

The next few weeks are going to be interesting as I don't think she has the gumption to switch up her content.

Hmmm yeah something is weird, I checked random videos, only one I got first ad, even though the yellow spots for ads were there no middle ad played in any of the videos... strange... very strange
