And they won't make it difficult for her, either. Hormone based birth control isn't neutral for the woman's health, IUDs are almost impossible to get if you haven't given birth yet (at least where I am) and many of them are also hormone based. Tubal ligation, compared to other methods, is actually fairly safe. It's just also irreversible. But if vasectomy is perfectly legal and doesn't require as many hoops to jump through, why does tubal ligation does? It should be similarly available for women.

Where I am hormone free IUDs are easy as hell to get and pushed by a lot of clinics because they are safer than surgery and reversible. They are also covered on the sliding scale of payment by welfare so it’s an easier first choice for a lot of low income women.

Insurance will always make people jump through hoops when it comes to surgery and the number of uninsured Americans will always be a burden on the system, therefore making it more difficult. The entire system needs to be fixed.

Never said it be a good life but I dont see her getting turned down like most ppl think she will. But while you can not get disability for bring obese you can get it based on illness stemming from your disability. This means if she develops a liver condition, if she is gets diagnosed with diabetes or as she likes to toss around she actually does have anxiety and bipolar. We all guess she has s multitude of health issues and if the money starts drying up she will probably push to a doctor to firmly diagnose these issues that prevent her from working.
Another thing in her favor is the section 8 housing she will qualify for. Alot of places take this as it is a guaranteed payment and also the government will cover any damages left by the tenant. So she might have to downgrade but it wont be that bad.

I believe it is very difficult nowadays to have disability benefits in Kentucky. There has been a lot of fraud in the last few years. Becky was working then quit when moved it with Amber. This would be a huge red flag in the eyes of the government. I think it would require, as you said, a long documented history of any illnesses for her to be approved.
