Which will inevitably fuck him over in the long run because draining all your whales at once when you're no longer getting guaranteed income from Twitch is pretty stupid... but we all know Phil would put a Band-Aid over a tumor rather than going to a doctor to fix the problem.

ngl, I don't think DSP will even hit $2000. I was expecting a lot, don't get me wrong, I even voted $3,000+ in the poll, but man...Actually looking at $3,000 and hearing him say "we're 1/5th of the way there!"

...Just depressing.

I'm waiting for DSP to hit the marathon goal today, then complain that tomorrow is slow and he still needs support because the marathon doesn't count.

I'll always laugh at the fact that Phil has to play a game of Twister to update the leaderboard. Even funnier still, he's convinced himself that this is the optimal set up for his office and when people suggested improvements (with blueprints!) he shot them all down as being impossible for one reason or another.

I guess the fact that the whales don't dump their load at the start of the stream is enough proof that Phil really does coordinate with them. There's no reason why they wouldn't do that if they already have the money and will end up donating enough to hit the goal.

I know this is old news, it's just that it dawned on me only now.

Which just makes it all even more bizarre. Imagine actually having secret conversations with a guy to arrange... Sending him money. How empty are these guys' lives?

The real thinkmeat here is ok, he hits the goal today but he's going to keep his $400 a day stream goals, and that wasn't enough to get him from Twitch payment to Twitch payment the first time so he needed the begathon today to collect the supposedly lost revenue (we're supposed to memoryhole patreon as he says to pledge to it but never specifies what bills that number is supposed to cover), has neither DSP nor his audience realized the permanence of this situation and are only capable of seeing the current emergency and buying into this calm after the storm attitude and where is it coming from, a place of ignorance on DSP's part or a hope for one on his paypigs' for next months emergency?
 
I look forward to next months Mass Effect 2 Marathon. Goal must be set at $5k, as for some inexplicable reason contributions have massively slowed since the first marathon.
 
I have a feeling he will take his vest off mid stream. " I've had it on for a few hours guys and its getting hotter my AC is running at max!".

I also feel mid/end stream the big tip will come in. I'll throw my bet around 1.5k or 2.5k.

It takes so little thought.

1. DSP is departnered from Twitch.
2. DSP won't be getting Twitch subscription payments anymore.
3. DSP is holding an emergency begathon to cover the difference.
4. DSP will still be departnered from Twitch next month.
5. ... then what the fuck are you going to do? Another 4 digit begathon next month?

Fucking mind-boggling.
 
I swear dsp is retarded and it fuckin pisses me off.

He said at least 10 times how good 60fps is, then someone said xbox console can do 120fps and he is like "i dont think it makes much difference".

Phil is not the kind of stupid such that he can't recognize a pattern. If he asks, he gets. Maybe not always to the amount he asks for but I'll bet you this whole event raises more than a paltry $400 for the day. That's still a success. If it didn't work for his purposes you can bet he'd drop it like a bad habit. He drops everyone and everything the moment they're no longer serving his purposes.

Phil's fans, on the other hand, are absolutely stupid enough not to recognize a pattern. Phil knows when he's lying. It's why he's banned arithmetic in his chat like some kind of middle ages lord, like it was witchcraft, and for similar reasons. A dictator will not have any truth but his own spoken to him, and since he's gathered a gaggle of retards around him willing to give him the money he asks for, for whatever reason they may, he only needs to worry about them beginning to change their minds.
