Bug & feature request report @geckogoy
  • Cyborgs are unable to get the mining jetpack and security tasercooler upgrades;
  • 'Take Image' verb for borgs is broken;
  • Cyborg VTEC speed upgrade does nothing;
  • HANDCUFFS CANNOT BE TAKEN OFF BY YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE;
  • Plant clippers are broken - attack the plants instead of taking a seed sample;
  • Hallucination monkeys are almost completely invisible - can only see their tails;
  • Weird visual bug with xeno night vision;

  • Port botanist belt from /vg/ for storing all the gear;
  • Off-hand item for two-handed weapons doesn't disappear upon unwielding;
  • ERT isn't properly implemented as a special role;
    • have no objectives (should have a default "Assist the crew members aboard [station.name] in any way possible" objective);
    • can infinetly respawn - there should be "cryo sleep pod" structures that look similar to sleepers and act as a single-use respawn structure;
  • Ballistic destruction behaviours for Machinery;
    • currently, machinery structures act as impenetrable barricades when even r-walls eventually melt under heavy gunfire - bullets should break machinery in a similar way that regulars tools deconstruct them;
      • Computers: normal -> shattered BSOD screen -> computer frame with glass shard ejected into its tile -> metal sheet, circuit, wire and a glass shard on the tile;
      • Other machinery: normal -> maintenance panel open (only if it exists for this structure), maybe with some sparks overlay effect like the one damaged airlocks have -> wired machinery fram with circuit and stock parts ejected into its tile -> metal sheet, circuit, wire and stock parts on the tile;
  • Grabs act fairly broken when used on non-human mobs;
    • have no sounds;
    • stunlock you forever if a non-human mob is tabled;
  • Kitchen gibber can dupe meats of a last gibbed animal until a GC error appears and deletes that animal inside the gibber;
  • Can you even interact with a barsign in any way?
  • lamarr_cage.dm and displaycase.dm files should be consolidated into a single structure;
  • Add animation and sounds for xeno hunter lunging;
    • Add a visible description to the act as well (Alien hunter (699) lunges at John Nanotrasen, tackling him on the ground!);
  • Security Camera Monitor doesn't actually show the station map in the "Show Map" tab;
  • N2O takes WAY too long to wear off after you stop huffing it;
  • Port current eating behavior from diona nymphs to mice;
    • add hunger value to both because why not?
  • Make red airlocks (the ones that lead to space/shuttles) and firelocks non-opaque (should be able to see through them like through glass doors);
    • More visibility is always good, especially when being able to see what's behind that airlock that's flashing funny is the question of life and death;
      • I know you can examine firelocks to see the data for the air behind it but being able to actually see the huge wall of plasma fire consume your screaming colleagues from the relative safety of your own room is extremely kino;
      • Same goes for the red airlocks - seeing a clown honk his horn at you from the Evac Shuttle while you yourself were mere seconds late to board it creates a very moving moment + judging by the sprite itself, it was already created with this visibility in mind;
    • All neccessary sprites can be stolen from TG;
  • Explosions should create fires that linger for a brief amount of time, especially the fueltank explosions - fires are !!FUN!! and we should be seeing more of them in the game;
  • Improve bodythrows: thrown mobs should stun the mobs that they were thrown at and damage should be applied to both;
    • additionally thrown mobs should get weakened/stunned themselves upon impact with wall/window/whatever they end up getting smashed into;
  • Electric chairs are extremely broken;
  • Shuttle turfs/areas shouldn't have infinite power supply (except Arrivals Shuttle I guess) and should actually have working APCs;
  • The atmos rewrite should be finished to finally re-enable a good half of all the atmos equipment that's currently rotting in excluded files;
    • Also thermal_plate.dm was deleted at some point but if anyone really cares about those they can just port them from /vg/;
  • Floor tiles completely cover the pipe valves - valves should instead be visible regardless if the plating has a floor tile or not.
 
@geckogoy I've been working on some sprites right now and not to alarm you, but I think your item_state rewrite broke the majority of in-hand and mob item sprites - most of the guns, backpacks and other random items no longer have in-hand icons and I saw a guy on our last gaming session running around in clothing with broken mob sprites :cryblood:

@geckogoy I've been working on some sprites right now and not to alarm you, but I think your item_state rewrite broke the majority of in-hand and mob item sprites - most of the guns, backpacks and other random items no longer have in-hand icons and I saw a guy on our last gaming session running around in clothing with broken mob sprites :cryblood:

Yeah, riot armor is broken for some reason.
 
Most of the inhand sprites didn't exist to begin with on this codebase I'll fix riot armor real quick though

It did break inhands though, for example a lot of the guns and backpacks now don't have inhands that they absolutely used to (energy gun, laser gun, hydro backpack, etc). You check it out and see for yourself.

Oh yeah I had a suggestion, you guys remember the knives and home-made blades you can make on the station? they feel very underutilized overall and I wanted a way to make it so they have some viable use. I figured maybe adding a (better) laceration system to how people can be damaged? So obviously this system wont apply to Energy Swords since realistically cauterize any wound it makes but with normal blades and knives(could apply to glass shards and glass spears as well) I wanted a more consequential laceration system like deep cuts that caused bleeding but could only be repaired by the advanced trauma kit or a stitching system placed in that conventional bandages or the medibot couldn't fix themselves?

just reduce attack delay for knives to like a microsecond and enjoy your christmas market stabbings recreations!

Frick I knew I forgot to check something, that was a pretty major oversight good catch

Yea maad also reported that in his giga effort post still trying to figure that one out, it makes little to no sense tbh as to why its happening
 
I'm just going to say it. I think melee should be meta and deal a fuck ton of damage like guns. I want to fucking slaughter people. Rip them apart. My name is not important, It's what I want to do that is. I want fallout style super mutant rebar hammers to break space men in half. I want axes to delimb in one hit. I want riot gear to have a purpose. Pls.
 
Happy Page 200, I will see if I can make it tomorrow, had a load of irl grass touching shit to do. Maybe I will make it for a round or two.

Quick bug & feature request report before studying @geckogoy
  • Security records console features crew with missing clothing sprites;

  • Space drifting is no longer smooth;
  • Pulling with grabs is comedically borked as well;
  • Captain's gloves body sprite makes them look like they're tiny and barely fit lol;

  • Cryo pods no longer show the mob inside;
  • Changeling bug report (yes I know they're WIP, nonetheless):
    • CHANGELINGS STILL GET UPLINK ACCESS;
    • lings should be their own gamemode (but you already know that);
    • lings can't emote at all;
    • lings can't use traitor uplinks (you can open it using the PDA as usual, but after that you can't press its buttons, including the Close button, making it uncloseable);
  • Some items with their layer customly set below 3 appear below HUD when held/worn - e.g. if you take a camera bug in your hand you won't be able to see it in the hand because it the hands HUD will overlap it (you can still check if you're holding it with right-click);
  • Cannot configure radio menu of a camera bug - it closes upon interacting with it;
  • 100 damage cap for the head (in theory this should be an issue with all other limbs as well) makes it invulnerable to destruction with laser guns - e.g. ballistic guns would gib the head but if you grab an xray gun and use it instead, the head will reach the burn damage cap and refuse to take any further damage w/o the head melting away into ash or some shit;
  • Temperature gun's UI window isn't updating automatically;
  • Temperature gun's shots are way too weak, barely change the body temperature of the affected mob;
    • Does freezing alone (without gas) even kill you?
    • Does heat alone (without gas) even kill you?
    • Shots that were configured to have a high temperature still freeze the mob for some reason;
      • are still labeled as "freeze beam" and have a cold blue icon;

  • changelings are now demons in the lore? I thought they were supposed to be aliens from The Thing;
  • lings can use all of their abilities after death, including the monster form transformation.
