IIRC we've seen Null entering new ones in on MATI and there was a field for specifying a post for reference. Maybe dozens/hundreds of them don't have it filled in though.

Would cut down on curiosity searches.
 
This has come up like twice a year in the last 6 years. I always assumed the point of random.txt was the mystery of not knowing where it came from.

Also you could probably just use the search bar
 
Some of the quotes are from old YouTube videos that may not be around anymore / un-archived. Some are funnier without context. Because when people first look at the site, they get a “sample” of what to expect. And some were made before kiwi farms was created, so you won’t find them through search.

And lastly, Null simply has more important things to worry about. I don’t even know if that “gay pedo at the gate” waste of skin is still using bots to flood the website with CSAM to shut us down. Null said he would love to work on fun stuff, but like all things, it’s about time and money. And he has little of either.

If you are really curious just do some detective work or ask regulars and old-farts here. They might know.
 
I don't know why people are being so negative, this seems like a neat idea to get people to check out new and differnet threads instead of the ones they already know, which null has said is one of his goals.
 
I bet if you were to search in this thread you could find all the new and interesting things you were looking for

If you want a better shot at getting into the quote rotation:
  • Always include a source URL.
  • Quote few posts. I glaze over the huge lists of quotes because they're often just not worth reading but still end up highlighted because people like having their own post quoted.
  • Quote shorter posts. The more said with fewer words, the better.
  • Avoid politics. I just don't care.
  • Avoid quoting me. It's masturbatory.
