Don't worry, I experienced this in the MUD/MOO sphere. Four Big Guys with the right inclination and a vested interest in making a good clean codebase could do the job of twenty troons in the same period of time with far less drama involved.

Troons of now are the Indians of yesteryear where there's this false notion that they're like Apu but more like Pudoo Redeemoarapist Patel. Everyone thinks they're getting Rain Ma'am but they're actually just getting an autistic cenobite chronic masturbator.

Oh trust me, I know they're shit at coding. Most fan made...anything is poorly coded, especially anything by trannies. Trooning out seems to even degrade one's existing skill in code from what I noticed.
Was making a joke about how people who get into coding tend to troon out, the austimo to loony troon pipeline is real and fucked.

From what i've been hearing troons are only really good at being code monkies ie grunt work niggercattle, with the advances in AI/LLMs/Satan a lot of that grunt work can basically be overstepped with an AI helper provided your diligent in looking over it's "work"

Me testing my updates (for once) before pushing them to the server circa 30 minutes ago

I have continued to get caught up by the nigger hud and inventory and icon generation code and every time i fix something there is a new problem I have taken the week off full time and literally RAPED the entire icon and inventory code and it is almost fixed however i have once again gotten distracted by random side tasks

edit: oh, yeah it definitely is this was mapped by @HahaYes this is 'old atmospherics' IE original atmos. the lore is the station was abandoned for many years, portions of it were inhabited by pirates (just atmospherics for now) and then renovated. unless we have a downstream we don't know about this is us

Will probably not able to play this week. But I wanted to write this down. I am not 100% sure of this since I tested with my shitty laptop and the lag was unbearable. You can get igniters, and proximity detonators from the toll storage vending machine, meaning you only need to obtain metal sheets to create grenade casings, and access to chemistry (Or the means to break in) you can modify the proximity detonator to have 0 time and a range of 1. making it so triggers as soon as someone enters the tile(in my experiments it seems that the proximity timer countdown has a delay, I imagine it is so it does not instantly trigger in your hands).

With this you basically have DIY mines, will experiment more when I get home.
 
My massive infrastructure rewrites finally went live (530 files changed, 8694 insertions(+), 12960 deletions(-))

I did a fair amount of testing (by my standards) and everything finally seems to be in order so let me know if things work properly. Relatedly I probably wont be able to be there this upcoming saturday due to various christmas activities, so depending on how things pan out may not be much support available if things break tbh

The main interesting things (for now) are you will lose inventory slots conditionally because they are now oftentimes attached to body parts or items, like if you take your uniform off you lose your pockets and id slot, if your left arm gets chopped off you lose your gloves and left hand slot

A number of bugs appear to have gone away due to the rewrite, like you can handcuff people properly again

Grabs look different now, I assumed I broke them but they just lost their weird underlay thingy. IDK I actually like them slightly better now. I also fixed slime grabs.

As I was redoing status HUDs anyways I fixed the borg temperature and pressure HUDs to actually do something (they previously were non functional, now they scan the environment for you to see if its safe for humans)

Xenos HUD got a plasma icon and also a queen finder compass thingy, as it is now much much easier to add new types of hud elements and I wanted to add those for a while

As it is now much easier to add inventory slots I gave squiggers a 'pocket' slot where they can store items in their mouth. This should be useful as they can now passively scavenge squirrel resources while scavenging for food and put the squirrel resources in their mouth if they find food to bring back to the nest

Remove prototypes for troon flags and pins.
Remove the tranny shark plushie
Remove the faggot lines from the launcher
Perhaps 15 minutes work if you know what you are doing.

The Einstein Engines release of ss14 will be on steam probably next year at which point the tranny slop will presumably have been removed from the game loading tips and menus
