Bug & feature request report @geckogoy
  • One should be able to wear a bucket as a hat and an improvised helmet;
  • Meteor mode: the meteor storm should be timed to stop right after the Evac shuttle docks at CentCom if the shuttle was called at exact moment it becomes available at the very beginning of the shift;
  • Do different plant nutrients (Left 4 Zed, Robust Harvest) even work? Check that and fix them if they don't;
  • Hydroponic trays should start with 0 nutrient to allow Botanists to pour their custom nutrients into them right off the bat;
  • Add "Protect" objective for Traitors;
    • in case that on its own sounds too boring, the objective should be "Protect some other traitor's target" (obviously without saying that your protege is someone's, if anyone's, target);
  • Posibrains can't talk audibly and can only talk in Robot Talk;
  • Mining borgs can't get the 'mining robot jetpack' upgrade;
    • look into all of the borg upgrades to double-check whether or not they are working properly or are broken like this one;
  • Mining borgs can't pick up ores with their mining satchel, not by clicking the turf nor by clicking the ores themselves;
    • the are a LOT of things still broken for borgs and some of their modules - I might work on a big Cyborg QoL/bugfix update next;
  • There are 2 "warden jumpsuit"s with the same names and descriptions but with different sprites - Wardens start the game with the red jumpsuit while the black jumpsuit is stored in the Warden's personal locker;

For most gif creation I generally use gimp, for this one I dragged meteor sprites from the dmi files in along with the base image, layered and merged everything to total 5 layers and exported it with "replace layers" to have it change the meteor orientation. For your use case of clipping a video this wouldn't work as you'd end up with way too many layers of each frame. What you could do is use kden live, cut the mp4 down to the section you're looking to use, then you'd export the timeline as a gif, it works pretty nicely:

Then use the basic game mechanics guide How Do I Do Anything? to complete the following optional assignment:

Spawn in and exit the shuttle into the station and locate a cigarette vending machine. Buy a lighter and a pack of smokes. In order to actually pay for stuff you will need to swipe your ID card, or put your ID in your PDA (so the machine can scan the ID). Put a cigarette in your mouth and light it with the lighter. Once you're smoking and see a smoke animation on your character, you have figured out many of the basic game mechanics.
 
Is there any way to play it without the faggy launcher, and is it possible to connect from behind Tor?

It is laggy as shit without a VPN or tor already, just use a VPN if it is that big of a concern tbh. Tor is slow as shit for a game that works in real time. I do not believe it is possible without the launcher either an admin has informed me web joins are disabled do not work, so you need the launcher as well. It fucking works apparently to launch it from the browser, however it still needs Byond installed

You can easily bookmark the station or just click "Replay last" or whatever it is called

Append byond:// before the server's IP, paste it into your browser, and hit enter, which would be byond://104.225.250.142:1337.

I'd join too, but I'm not well-acquainted with such an old codebase, so I'll probably hit ShartyStation instead.
