She doesn't say what kind of lymphoma, or what stage, but I'll assume it's the systemic kind (because it's the most common), and either stage II or III. With chemo, they'll get roughly another year. Without it (just giving palliative care), maybe another month or two. Some dogs defy the odds and not only go into remission but stay there, but from what I've seen, most only get a temporary reprieve. And if it comes back, chemo isn't as effective the second time around.
It really sucks losing a beloved pet, and some cancers are particularly awful because there's no way of knowing what outcome you'll have if you pursue treatment. Will it work, or not? How much time will it buy them, and with whay QOL? If you opt for palliative care for financial reasons, you'll always be stuck wondering if treatment would have worked.
It's a shitty situation, and I don't have to like Corissa to sympathize with what she's going through.
