It's now that fictional characters can't even be their own people since all choices from clothing to not screaming their sexuality to the rooftops (Dumbledore) is bad. I've noticed these people hate the fact that Dumbledore's sexuality was a minor aspect that wasn't immediately blurted out. He was a character first who had other problems and aspects that overshadowed it.
Well it would have been awkward if he was like, "Welcome to the school of wizardry, students. Also I like penis! Like I'm gay, super gay and I'm excited to watch you all mature and become adults." Or would they have approved of him just being a stereotype.

At this point they might as well start a petition to ban every fictional character in existance.

What, you know one of these loons would love to do so.

A gay man can't have any other facets to his personality aside from being gay? Did they want him to prance about while talking like Paul Lynde?

It'd be like those fundie loons who think fiction is sinful because it's all lies.

Be sure to archive shit. They can remove and change things.
Considering archiving, one may as well archive comments since those to can be changed. It happened to @TyrannoNinja when he left a comment that got edited by the owner into some stupid advice animal derived image. Speaking of which, the link you quoted, the comments in that are all complaining about Quiet's design. They should know that Metal Gear isn't the most logical thing, even when you have things like nanomachines.

It's Schrodinger's minority, to please the SJWs, your character MUST be from an oppressed cultural/sexual denomination, you must prove it by having them never ever EVER shut up about how they come from an oppressed cultural/sexual denomination, but, you must also make sure they do other things besides constantly mentioning it, because that's pandering and reducing them to a pale stereotype....

For some reason this whole thing reminded me of Arcade Gannon from Fallout. You know, the party member that a lot of people liked because of his personality and not just because he's gay? Has anyone ever bitched about him, though?

Same thing with Veronica from Fallout New Vegas. She only reveals she's a lesbian after you really talk to her and get to know her as a character. Even then when she mentions it, it's a pretty casual- "I had a girlfriend and the Brotherhood of Steel didn't like it."

Really, this is just incredibly inane. Hasn't the LGBT community tried for decades to show that they were just regular people and that they had personalities and interests OUTSIDE of their sexuality? Do they really want more characters like Andrew Dobson's Atea?

Considering how much effort the dumblr crowd has put into making themselves the public face of all things "progressive," it's easy to mistake their bullshit for the actual position of all, or even most LGBT people. It ain't so, though.

Think of how it would be if you were a Christian and had to constantly deal with people like Pat Robertson, Josh Duggar, and other lolcowish freaks being your public spokespeople, whether you liked it or not. For instance, for all the screamers who are both Catholic and loudly anti-gay marriage, you might not realize over 60% of Catholics actually support it.

SJWs really seriously don't represent the groups they pretend to be protecting. They are fakes usurping the role of protector, while contributing nothing to any real progress.

I am all to familiar with how that goes because, FUNNY THING...

I'm a Christian transman. There have been times were I've had to explain my situation to people who tend to have a more skeptical outlook on the LGBT community and I am always worried that they will associate me these SJW asshats who will start screeching about preferred pronouns if you so much as look at them wrong.

Somewhere along the line, they've forgotten what "equality" really means, it means treated like a normal average person, not treated BETTER.......in the SJW world especially it has moved well beyond treating a gay person on their merits, it's now practically homophobia to just not LIKE someone with different interests and hobbies than you, who just happens to be gay.... not irrationally hating them isn't enough, wishing them no harm is not enough, indifference is just as bad as oppression to them. Because sexual identity is everything, nothing else matters and the only reason you'd object is because you're all sexists... it's a bit ironic.

The real key is look at the people who spout this shit. The most well known ones are all rich trust fund kiddies living in their parents shadows who got whatever they wanted never had to struggle. They romanticize struggling because it's something the common person does everyday its the life blood of modern art, They know they haven't struggled with money and are sure not to give up mommy and daddy's money so they align themselves with social struggles and latch to them like a leech and blow things way out of proportion. The secret is really what you never hear them discuss which is the real determining power of where you are in society is wealth. Also if you strip most socjust of their labels and rage they're sad lonely insignificant people who are like Phil they never bothered to learn or teach themselves anything interesting so they cover it up with labels and causes. A desperate angry roar of "I EXIST!".

@Stress Sigh I think that's what I was close to realizing, but didn't at first. This, all of the SJWist movement, is just self righteousness looking for a cause, so they can fight it and get all the feel-good of making the world better by virtue of being on the winning side that's already been vindicated. A lot of the big, popular causes like women's rights or racial equality have already been fought and won (or at least won important, major concessions, I know there's still racial bigots and misogynists, but they can't legally beat their wives or kick blacks out of their stores for being black anymore ) and I think you're right, a lot of these folks are just butthurt they missed their chance to remembered as fighting the good fight.

So they have to find new racial and sexual injustices to fight. (and it's only ever those, the "popular" progressive ones that history has judged you righteous if you fought. There's still plenty of poverty out there, but that's HARD to fight, and, well, as you said, trust fund kids aren't wont to eat their own kind)

And it's not just sticking to the "hip" injustices, they frequently pick ones that aren't even that, and try and TURN them into injustices. Making mountains out of molehills, which is where we get them arguing that transphobia is the new injustice, and by "transphobia" they mean writers don't put trans people into their works, or there being binary bathrooms in most places.... And it's not just bandwagon equality, it's LAZY bandwagon equality. When your contribution to the "movement" is bad fan fiction with trans characters, that doesn't make you some kind of hero. You want to be the equal of Rosa Parks, but don't want to actually get your hands dirty and put yourself at any kind of risk. You talk a good talk, but for all your indignation over the system, you'll never put your delicate fingers into the gears and try and stop it, will you? Of course not, that would ruin your nails. You're trying to piggyback by showing how concerned you are and how much wrong you've found with the world, but never actually do anything except decry everyone else. And the rest of us are not mini-KKK members for calling you out as such when we all can see it.

I guess you can call them the modern Catchers in the Rye....lazy Cathers in the Rye....kinda sad.

Eager wannabe adventurers so eager to hear the call to action they cried it themselves on who or what is unknown. They're so dogmatic it's scary but more so than with the religious right there's no written Bible Torah or Koran to hold them back they write it as they go and yesterday's message is never extreme enough.

A lot of this discussion is really interesting, but it's getting a little off-topic, and it should probably go in the general Social Justice Warriors thread. Here's some Tumblr "racebends" to get us back on track:
