TL;DR/timeline: Back in 2022 Rex Landy got a call from NZ Police informing her Daniel had filed a report against her, told her she was "required to refer to Johnston as a “woman” and respect his self-declared gender identity" and given a written warning (later succesfully challenged and dismissed). Mr Johnston, clearly traumatized, proceeded to subscribe to her members-only substack and follow her across social media. In 2024, she was given a court order to remove any posts referring, even indirectly, to him. She missed 2 - so her home was raided and she was arrested for "failure to comply". Last week, a day before her court date, she was hit with another failure to comply after another complaint from Daniel. She's due in court in December and faces a $50k fine or three months imprisonment.
