Has DankPods ever taken sponsorships? He goes out of his way to thank his members and Floaties for paying him enough so he doesn't have to shill for anything.
I get the feeling it's more a case of Dank being less interested in the main channel and concentrating more on Garbage Time, kinda like when Matt Groening lost interest in The Simpsons and focused on Futurama.

Yeah, the LTT connection is unfortunate, but I can't see him ever going full Linus (Aussies hate that sort of shit). That, and Floatplane was a necessary evil after Twitch stopped paying him because copyrighted music in drum streams.
Hardly. I've lost count of the number of times he's complained about shitty Chinesium tools he's bought and how hard it is to find good tools he can buy instead. It's not like Garbage Time is Mighty Car Mods, which is full of product placements for brands like Ryobi and Castrol, not to mention all the aftermarket parts suppliers and service providers who aren't acknowledged as sponsors but are almost certainly offering in-kind support to MCM.
There's more going on than shitty chinesium hand tools. The space, the lift, tool chests, etc. not all sponsorships and shilling needs to be as direct on youtube. It wouldn't be different than his other channels either, with the gaming one being the only one I'd believe doesn't get some corporate cash or product at some point. Even the LTT thing, being in Linus' videos is a benefit to him for promoting floatplane.
Guy goes from fixing busted old MP3 players and general consumer crap you'd get at a Best Buy, to suddenly promoting $1000+ niche audiophile headphones in multiple videos is a hell of a shift and he'd probably take more if he could get them.

I would have liked Meze to be actually worth it, since it is from Romania, but unfortunately I think it's overpriced and not technically impresive. Most peoole would by it for looks and comfort.

Today Linus is back to pretending to be a legit channel by leeching off of another expert's expertise and going after an approved target. This is video isn't awful and serves as a pretty good explanation of the AI listicle to marked up chinkium garbage pipeline until the end where they explain the chinkium trash sellers abusing the copyright system to take down critiques are actually not evil and just normal guys doing what any of us would do. TLDR; companies make chinkium crap which they sell at a high markup, use that high profit margin to over very generous referral commissions, and then AI driven listicles which populate Google's SEO push that product to guarantee high demand.

You can tell Linus' arrogant incompetency has been rubbing off on Wade. He's has become noticeably more frustrated, short-tempered, and dismissive of stuff in his more recent videos on the main channel. Feels like it's phoned-in, bare-minimum effort to maintain a consistent upload schedule over anything else. You can really feel it in the recent nugget dips and especially the "free camera" vid. At least he seems more like his old/normal self on Garbage Time

tbh I wouldn't be unhappy if DankPods' main channel went on hiatus for a while, so Wade can recharge. He seems to genuinely enjoy Garbage Time (even if his cars give him the shits). Working with James probably helps.
I'd love to see The Drum Thing make a comeback, as he seems his happiest when sperging about drums. I'm sure 1 Grit, Sexy Speaker and his Pkcell could do with a rest too.

One thing is he mentions (around 20min) is the nVidia comparison, even though GamersNexus, Be8auer and others have openly talked about nVidia pushing for certain types of reviews and, in the case of GN, even threatening them with no longer providing engineer interviews for videos. So LTT is literally trying to defend their shit-reviews that favor nVidia, which means they have sold their integrity for special treatment.

I'm pretty sure they fucked up and didn't bother to white balance the scene. Yellow wall, warm yellow light on the side,, all of the white shit on the wall to the left has a slight yellow tone, the beige/yellow phone, yellow album cover in the rack on the wall, yellow text on the ammo box. It's a weird scene in general. Even the little teapot or whatever it is on the shelf to the left has a yellow tint.
