Cody was booking the men back then. He kept the bucks in check and they handled the tag stuff.

AEW was good when Cody booked the men, Omega booked the women, and the bucks booked the tag teams.
Please try to tell me that 2019-2020 AEW is worse than 2022-2024 AEW lmao.

Early-mid 2023 AEW got me back into pro wrestling after years of being away and paying it no mind. I'm pretty grateful for that, but even then it was trash that would occasionally have a pearl in the pile. I started watching right around the time MJF and Danielson had the Iron Man match. The issue is that they eventually became much more trash and a lot less pearls. I can't help but wonder how people would see AEW now if it weren't for the falling out with Punk. Punk could be lucifer incarnate, but it doesn't change the fact that when he was around, Collision was actually somewhat decent and delivered better matches than Dynamite was. The shows felt different from one another. The best thing they can do on AEW is embrace the chaos angle. Turn the trash into a trash fire. Have Flair on commentary with Taz and an open bar. Hell, hire Russo for the ideas and the inevitable drama. The show has potential to be fun again, but they just don't know how to deliver. The Dark Side of the Ring episode is imminent, just have some fun and party it up while the plane comes crashing down.
 
Even after he was response for Ricochet being written off, the fans cheer for Bron Breakker weeks later against the foreign heel.
 
also lol once again the big effort is keeping Dom away from hetero experiences
