But more to the point, I agree whatever is going on he's clearly trying to obfuscate the situation. The problem he's having is that when there's a situation that doesn't make sense, it's basic human nature to insert an explanation to rationally explain the series of events in a way that conforms with our understanding of how the world works. With the senseless tidbits he's thrown out and how much bullshit he's been engaging in, that leads people to rationally come up with all types of horrible situations. It could truly be some horrific and random medical problem, and people would have just believed that was the case three years ago. But nobody now will jump to that as the most sensible explanation, and that's Nick's fault entirely.
