A "unity vote" would basically kill the Republican Party overnight, not even Trump or Tucker could damage control that. Hell, it might even hurt the Democrats with some of there Progressive base wondering why they're voting for the ebil Republikkans into power instead of trying to get the Neo-cons to vote Jeffries in.

McCarthy won't step down, that would be a twist I just don't think is loaded into the clown world system, it's a matter of making sure he allows the things the base wants.

It’s understandable for Trump since McCarthy has generally acted reasonably with him. The Freedom caucus have often shit the bed rather than allow for even moderate wins.

But this is still a weird situation where the conservatives in congress could see a win and should grab it while they can. Will be funny if they do.

They didn't vote for Jordan this time and did Jordan just vote for McCarthy? They are voting for BASEDBLACKMAN Byron Donalds now, up to 13 votes.
 
I don't see the problem here. Every calorie they expend flopping around dramatically here is not being spent screwing over American taxpayers. It’s a slight delay in funnelling another few dozen billion to Ukraine. They are not going to solve any real problems so why not be entertaining?

Make them expose themselves. If the Uniparty needs to take off the mask to make this go away, more NPCs get to see the face of Cthulu. This is a public service too.

Edit: republicans need to understand why this image is yet another rake being stepped on.

Well we have the answer for what all that tard wrangling got done last night: absolutely nothing. McCarthy has already lost the fourth vote, only a question of by how much. Also love how this is turning into a Florida party because Jordan was replaced by Florida Rep. Byron Donalds for this latest vote. Who is also black. It's amazing shit stirring :story:

It is inevitable though because they will have to get something in place for when we need to give even more money to Ukraine. The way I see it is McCarthy relying on Democrats to get the Speakership instantly dooms him to failure. Whatever exposes the public to the uniparty and McCarthy is only a plus. The media will crow about bipartisanship, he becomes the most hated politician in the country, and he will lose any marginal chance to get the Freedom Caucus and eventually others on board. He’s going to go down as the worst, most useless Speaker and it’s not even his first day of that job.
 
Also this quote CNN extracted from McCarthy earlier this morning says it all:
“It doesn’t matter [if I lose more support] — I have the most votes,” he said.

And vote update: McCarthy couldn't convince anyone, still 20 dissenters for the fourth round.
 
I'm starting to believe that there's footage of 1/6 where McCarthy, McConnell, Schumer and Pelosi are all in front of a big whiteboard that lays "here's what our FBI buddies are going to do today" and that is why he won't concede on the simplest of things. And all four also pissed into each other's mouths and drained the blood of innocent children for their Yeti tumblers.
 
So, what happens? McCarthy goes to the dems and negotiates something like the reformation of the J6 witch hunt for the speaker position, or the dems make empty promises to get a dem speaker in a rep majority house. Either of these outcomes is going to end poorly.

This idiot apparently doesn't understand he will never become Speaker if he can't gain support.
 
Victoria Spartz, one of McCarthy's supporters has switched her vote to Present. That's the only change for this ballot.

It's amazing how it took just a few politicians getting out of the lockstep with the Neoconservative part of the Republican Party for the words "infidel" and comparisons to "terrorists" get tossed around. The longer this goes on it is made abundantly clear who is seen by some of the GOP as the "real" enemy and who isn't to the general public. I hope if the uniparty does somehow stop this, they will have to show their entire hand to the country.
