New Disney movie is out, time for tumblr to start raging!

This one isn't that bad, but what makes it is the description

they're basically admitting "Meh all brown races/cultures are the same, as long as they're not icky white". also there are white hispanic redheads, not that the artist will admit it...

most artists who draw these pictures are hispanic/asians. seems pretty racist for a (presumably) white american brat to be telling them how to draw characters.
There are conditions where people's hair will turn gray really early in life (one of my uncle's hair was salt-and-pepper in high school and turned totally white by the time he was in his mid 20's). So why not do that. Also, hasn't this artist heard of Hindu where there are a lot of Indian worshipers and no hijabs?

I'm no expert on hair dye but surely some sort exists for white/silvery hair? Though unless you're aiming for realism you could probably just say "screw it, she's got silver hair, end of story" especially given this design retains the oversized buck teeth and all.

Granny hair is sort of a trend right now.

I don't really believe that black/Asian/Latino people can't relate to white characters. If there's a black guy reading a novel whose protagonist is white and is going through something like he's going through, will he be able to empathize or will he say, "I can't relate to this guy. Sure, his situation's a lot like mine, but he's white!"

The whole point of literature is to communicate the experiences of one person to another who is not entirely similar to them.

To them, all Indians are the same, no matter what. And that scares me, seeing as they're supposed to be "Progressive" people, and yet, rarely come off as such.

These are supposed to be the Power Puff Girls.
Of course, they had to be brown, even though they're clearly fucking white.

You have to bleach your hair even for white streaks which can look pretty with black hair in my opinion, but that's a pretty risky endeavour all around and I know most people aren't up for it.

Aside from the strange nose or body hair they draw on their characters it is the eyes that get me. They just refuse to draw eyes in any normal way they either draw snake eyes, also eyes with no pupils, or they use neon colors. It might not be so bad if one or two artists do it but they just copy each other to point you can't tell one artists from another. Also why is all the body hair on women always so dense do they not get that not all people have the same amount body hair?

I, too, would rather watch this than the reboot. I was hoping the reboot wouldn't be as bad as it first seemed but it just keeps getting worse. This reminds me of an encounter I had recently. Someone was arguing full-throttle that racebending a non-white character white was disgusting, horrible racism, but racebending a white character was good and holy and should be done more in canon as well. I don't understand these people. They've got faulty wiring and it's scary seeing them hooking and corrupting younger kids on tumblr and teaching them to parrot without any real critical thought.

I don't mind racebending characters, some of them look interesting. Make them anything the hell they want, but when they start doing it for tumblr edgelord points like some of the hideous shit in this thread, I reserve my right to laugh at it. I mind asshole stuff like "Hermione is 100% pee oh see and if you draw her white now in this enlightened age you are a shitlord racist".

Alright guys, I've been spending some time searching for a Rarity gijinka, or humanization, that I found last year. I've come to the conclusion that it was deleted, if you guys can find it, great. I'll just describe it to the best I can.

It was a black Rarity gijinka. She was dressed in ghetto clothing, some kind of vest, and had that tumblr side shaved hair with a diamond pattern in the side. Totally sounds like a fashionista lady, guys. I don't know, I guess I just think when people make humanizations they should keep the character's likes and personality in mind. Just an opinion.

Once again, our good friends at BBAD run over like they heard a dog whistle every time some thing involving Quiet appears.
For all we know, the glove has that either as flavor text or because it does have something that doesn't screw with the parasites Quiet has, despite the fact that you know, no one would really care except spergs such as BBAD and people that love playing Phantom Pain.

Hey, these at least look better than the reboot.
To be honest, it doesn't look all that bad. Aside from the race-bending fetish one would see on Tumblr, it's one of the things that is much better drawn.

The way that is, I don't know if one would be able to find it, not when you have bronies and SJW's make humanized drawings of pastel horses. The way the drawing sounds though, it could either come from someone trying to mock the SJW art style or its coming from a Tumblr artist whose drawing comes off as a stereotype of African Americans.

I think as an experiment, it can serve similar merits to genderswapping in terms of playing around with designs and even their backgrounds. And I also don't mind when someone assigns a race to a character that's either non-human or somehow ambiguous without that being a big part of their character. But yeah, most of this is "praise me, I'm so progressive" or "This is gonna make dem damn dirty cishets so mad!" stuff.

Also, with Tentai on how people really should keep characters' personalities, likes and original appearance in mind when changing species/race/gender...

Why are Blossom's eyes red? Is she high?
Her eyes are red/pink in the actual cartoon

I honestly don't think OP's art looks that bad compared to your average tumblr art, which usually depicts characters as grossly deformed/hideous. And the execution is pretty good, the lines are neat and the shading is well done. The main issue is how recognizable the characters are. Didn't even recognize Buttercup or Bubbles or this work as PPG the first time I saw it, Blossom's bow is what cued me in.

That's not setting the bar very high. And it looks about average as tumblr art goes. The problem is it's a shitty, unpleasant style that grates on the senses and does violence to the original.
