Man I was on SA back in the 2000s, I liked joining in the MSPaint threads. I remember the E/N subforum, basically goons post threads asking for agony aunt/uncle advice on the understanding that people will mock them if they think they deserve it but will give advice and support. There was one guy who lived with his wife and neglected young daughter and baby son in a filthy trailer with rotting floors full of cats and his kewl leet epic gaming PC setup that he'd spent more money on than on his home for the family. CPS had taken the kids and he was asking E/N if he could get any money from suing them. Not just if he could get the kids back, you understand, if he could get paid in the process.
Well, the goons were furious with him and told him what a deadbeat piece of shit he was. He went quiet for a while and then returned months later to say he realised how selfish he'd been, he'd cleaned up the trailer, was taking his work and studies seriously, got the kids back and was taking his parenting seriously too and looking after them, CPS were checking in and had said they were satisfied. He and his wife turned their life around, got help, took responsibility and took good care of the kids, and he was much happier himself as a result too. And the goons congratulated him and told him to stick to it and he'd be grand, and it was a nice happy ending.
Lowtax had access to far more support, connections and resources than that guy did. He could and should have done the same, seeing a clear example of a shitty dad being called a shitty dad and changing himself into a good dad right on his own forums, it was a guide for everything he should've been doing. Instead he suicided and now he'll never be a good dad OR be happy or healthy himself again. Rotting trailer goon was a better role model than Lowtax.
