Hi, Doomworld! It's been a long time since I last posted.
Oh hi, S'arais! Wow, it's been a long time since I last actually talked with you.
You may know me as someone who has no real interest in Doomworld or the people that roam around here, much less the typical conventions of Doom. Which is why I've started and released three (!) such mapping projects already dedicated entirely for ZDoom, newbie mapping, and not with typical mapping techniques or styles or anything of the sorts, which has (predictably) garnered very little interest here in return.
I really don't care for traditionalism or purism at all!
So when I tell you "Your maps are terrible", it certainly ain't because you're not doing it the traditional way.
Eschewing the established techniques and formats are all nice and fine and allow for thinking outside the box! It's fantastic! It's also not what you're doing. You're not being abstract, experimental, or anything of the sort--you're just mapping badly. Asking other people to fix up your stuff will not help you. Trying to fix up other people's stuff will not help them out.
And, funnily enough, this is the exact same thing you've been told on other, also-not-traditional, newbies-trying-to-make-things boards at all. The message has been the same, time and time again, from one place to another.
The problem is you.
You're not being a martyr. You're not being a preacher. You're not being an example. You're not being a messenger. You're a sad, depressed, sleep-deprived, delirious, angry, hurt, and extremely misdirected fool who's just screaming at everyone.
You're going to ignore me and justify this instead, but I'm going to tell you anyway: Log off. Get some sleep.
