Get Out (2017)

Get Out (2017) is a psychological horror by Jordan Peele staring Daniel Kaluuya. It delves into stereotypes of African Americans as well as putting a psychological terror on it. To be forced to sit as a bystander in your own mind as someone else controls it. It adds not only subtle social critique on our society when it comes to race, whether you agree with or not, it is portrayed in a way that is understandable as well as digestible. It was subtle enough that it doesn't feel pandered and I think it plays a lot to the "being controlled" feeling of the movie as well as the the "being uncertain" vibe.

I feel the emotions that best fit with this film was confusion and concern for one's safety when not in one's natural environment. It plays on that natural feeling of unsteady during a trip or in a different environment.

The movie's best aspect in my opinion was the cinematography. The natural greens from the forest help contrast from the more dreary decor of the house's exterior. I think it fits the mood very well as well as the use of more red colors in the house. Showing the contrast of the house and the outside.

Anyways, I really enjoyed Get Out (2017) and would definitely recommend it for anyone who is interested!
