This is a complete retranslation of Final Fantasy III for NES/Famicom. This patch is piggybacking off of the patch by Chaos Rush and all the technical work he did putting the game into working English text. I took some official translations in consideration for proper nouns, but otherwise it's all retranslated completely from scratch.

The Chaos Rush patch took some inspiration from the DS remake script, but this patch is a completely original translation, and all character/spell/monster/etc. names that were changed in localization are instead using their original Japanese names. Some compromises had to be made with the rom's low space for text in mind, but I believe my translation is accurately conveying just about all information from the Japanese script, the wording just doesn't always sound as nice as it could.

And other patches that are meant to go over top an already English-patched rom should probably work, assuming they don't touch the text data at all.

==How to use==
Simply use a program like Lunar IPS to apply the patch to an unaltered headered rom of the game.

==Translation Notes==
- Some liberty was taken with translating some of the Job names. たまねぎけんし is literally Onion Swordsman, but has been translated as Onion Knight for consistency with the Dissidia games which render it as such in English even in the Japanese version. かりゅうど (狩人) is literally Hunter, but has been translated as Ranger to fit better with its theming that seems to be taken from the Ranger class in D&D. ふうすいし is literall Feng-Shui Master, but has been translated as Geomancer since it's almost the same idea. りゅうきし (竜騎士) is literally Dragon Knight, but has been translated as Dragoon because it sounds cool and everyone is used to it. どうし (導師) generally means a proselytizing Buddhist monk, but has been translated as Devout since it's the official translation people are used it and it gets the idea across close enough. まじん (魔人) means a humanoid demon or person with demonic powers, but has been translated as Magus for the same reason as Devout. まかいげんし (魔界幻士) literally means Demon World Illusionist, and has been translated as Spiritmaster because it's shorter and gets the idea across well enough.
- The menu text with the name of your companion actually calls Sara, Cid, and Alus, Princess Sara (サラひめ), Cid-jiisan (シドじいさん), and Prince Alus (アルスおうじ). It doesn't fit the space in English, so it was shortened to just their names.
- Cid tends to refer to his wife as ばあさん (baa-san), which means either "grandmother" or more generally "old woman". Goes along with Cid himself getting called the opposite gender word じいさん (jii-san) a lot. It's kind of a cutesy way of emphasizing their age in comparison to the protagonists they're speaking to. It's not cleanly translatable, so had him just call her his wife or refer to her by a somewhat cutesy phrase at time.
- Salina likes to call Desch "Desch-sama" (デッシュさま). Makes her sound like a fangirl. It doesn't really translate without just using Japanese honorifics as is. I just tried to make her sound obssesive over Desch as best I could in her small amount of dialogue.
