I know that CBT is going to be the constant go to for this confidence thing, but if it wasn't the confidence, then it would be my interests or my wants that won't mesh. The dejected feelings and over all time alone is what worn away my confidence.
Well that's depression and something other therpay can help with. As your social confidence grows you'll converse more easily with people, find out their hobbies, and find some of your own.
I'm not talking about work social things, this is all that happens around me at fur events. Big reason why I stopped going to fur events because even if I tried to be social, what you advise to try doesn't work. I get left behind in conversations and eventually ignored.
One of the many reasons I don't bother with random fur meets.

but i was more on the side of you saying that you go to socialise and nobody really wants to do much if you dont have the same interests as them or if you try to be friendly and they dont really care as much
like i had so much trouble with a person in the area like he wouldnt even talk to me all efforts i made to try to get something that was about him would just end with him shoving one word reponses and just shutting it down
18:22
if you can understand how frustrated i was holy shit

this makes me just hate trying to meet new people, but on the flip side the events i go to i at least have a few friends there

and then i just think that they care about me more than that asshole ever did. and when I think that i actually go out to these events and make a few friends it just makes me feel like i've done more for my community than that person did.
18:24
my goal here in the fandom is to just make friends and be a positive influence. I dont have time for their negativity/

sure getting to try to know the person would have been nice, but with how things went i guess i rather just focus on just working on my own self and my local community.
