It's really hurtful that you dismiss the trauma that occurred. Rather then offer sympathy or support, you choose some negative banter about the validity of what transpired. Well I can attest to the blood from broken noses and blackened eyes. One of the victims was knocked unconscious, and then one of the 3 attackers continued to beat his head into the ground, worsening his concussion, in an attempt to kill him. The attack was brought on for holding hands. I call that pretty unprovoked. It's not in the news because reporting it makes it public. The victims names are made available to the attackers, opening them up for violent retaliation. It's feared these attackers were gang affiliated and so the choice was made not to report the attack. This happened to your neighbor in the bay area, your brother in the fandom. Gay or straight, none of us are safe until we all are safe. Try to be more thoughtful when commenting on reports of hate crimes.
