Yeah long walks and get pushed to do things I don't want to do behind a shrub wall or Candlelight dinners as you drip wax up my arm and grumble I need to finish my veggies. Then to cap off the night toss me around like a teddy owned by a 6 year old and finish with the the drunk uncle violating said teddy.
That's more my other-side's territory as well. I like when it feels like a 1v1, almost like a game or a sport. Rather than insulting them as a person, focusing on how much they're 'losing' or how much weaker they are in comparison or things like that.

I don't mean to come off as unfeeling or apathetic, but generally the balance is that when we suffer - especially earlier on - we develop some sort of counter-balance of experience or strength or a more developed sense of empathy. My main issue with school was that my parents insisted that I never have a laptop in school, and it was the kind of school where class was 90% writing down notes while the teacher monotonously echo'd them with no deviation whatsoever.

We would have easily written anywhere from 5-10 pages in each class with seven classes a day, at around 8pt font size.
Phys. Ed was fun though. And theater. The teachers we had were really really good, one of my English teachers more-or-less was the foundation of my inner voice of skepticism and logic.
There were just too many kids packed into each class, and an outnumbered group of surprisingly passionate teachers who actually did a lot to reach out to us, but just couldn't sustain themselves against the numbers.
