i had to learn in my early 20s that i wasn't god. i mean, it wasn't so much a self-aggrandizing ego thing for me, but i had this temptation to think that i could script out these wonderful experiences for the furs i was trying to take care of. i would plan things out as if i could perfectly predict the future and perfectly plan everything. and then when real life threw something at me that wasn't in my plan, i felt awful, as if i'd failed the people i was trying to help.
Actually, I have a better idea. I'll make this a poll and see what everyone thinks

right on. :-) my ex-coworker did that except it was a flight to australia. he kept it a secret from his partner until he landed and finally had to call him and ask for the address to get a taxi to.
It was a lot of fun. He hated the lack of planning but he's just stressed easy. I think when he saw I wasn't worried he was fine. I usually travel without a plan any way.
