Fancied himself a silver-tongue, and was not a half-bad broker. Unfortunately, his luck in convincing people to share secrets didn’t extend to his gambling habits. He lost quite a bit of his earnings betting on fights and cards. Had a habit of wearing a few gold rings in his left ear. Developed a debt to one of the local gangs by supplying incorrect information about a shipment of tax payments. Several of the gang’s members died in the ensuing mix-up, and Sylvia “Scytheclaw” (last name unknown) placed a sizable bounty on the Blackpelt family to recoup the debt. Marcus died suddenly after a particularly large bout of winning (with what turned out to be loaded dice), and it was ruled to be natural causes. Of course, poison and a heart attack are pretty indistinguishable…
