I still regret that garden hose/time machine combo from late nite TV

The as seen on TV phase issuing out because A) a lot of people don’t have TV anymore and B) it was marketed to illiterate (in terms of cooking or outdoors stuff) people

Reason the LA Quail
Instead of taking a product that already exists and is cheap ( like tongs or a basket) and spending a lot of time trying to improve it and then market it over the major companies that already make it, why not make up something new that fills a need
And even if that thing is both useful and original, perhaps the average person needs some exposure to the idea before its utility is obvious.

@majikbear Yeah. Counterintuitive; but if you alter your DTI ratio, it has an outsized effect
16:42
I increased my credit score by 50 points by simply requesting limit upgrades on my credit cards that I never use anyway. No annual fee, never use the cards, but i have that "credit" available so it wildly inflates my score.

I got stuck in a catch 22 when I closed all of my credit cards back when I was being supported by my ex.
16:44
I had 4 no-limit cards and when I closed them all it wrecked my credit, so I couldn't get any credit cards to build my credit.
16:45
I had to start all over with 2 secured cards like when I first established new credit.
I’m still debating on opening a bank account for myself, and where would be the best place to start. Coz not being able to purchase certain things online as well as carry cash all the time is causing some pretty big limitations for me overtime

I have a Chase checking account that I autopay my bills from and a Chase savings account that my savings auto-transfers into after every payday
16:59
Then I have a Chime account where my spending money gets auto transferred into each payday.
17:00
I keep my spending money in a seperate account so that when the money in it runs out my brain goes "definately stop spending money now" rather than "well I can spenda little more then just spend less next pay period."
17:01
Chime is really cool because I get a notification on my phone whenever a transaction is processed, and a reminder of my balance every morning.
17:02
They also have a feature where you can have it round each transaction to the nearest dollar and transfer the remainder into your savings.

They have another feature where if you use direct deposit for your paycheck they'll pay you 2 days in advance of payday.
17:05
What they're really doing is just paying you when they get the money, as most payroll companies actually pay on Wednesday but the bank holds the money in a mutual fund to draw interest off of it until Friday.
Eh, I’m broke. So even though I was there, I wouldn’t have enough money for anything “substantial”. I did check out the clothing places there, so that was fun at least

It's the same with any older generation of younger adults. You go back 20 or 30 years back, you'll find a lot of kids listening to Beach Boys or Jimi Hendrix than all the 80s pop dominating the top 40
24 bits gives 144 dB of dynamic range capability even if it's pure digital and vinyl barely can do 60 dB, CDs can do 96dB. It's the mastering process and intentional amplitude compression that limits dynamic range, not the source technology, pretty much always. Mastering sucks thanks to the industry deciding loud sounds better and ruining the source. It's not really vinyl vs digital... But some vinyl is mastered without that hateful amplitude compression

if something was DDD, or even ADD, then you knew you had a pretty good chance of it not being ultra-compressed, but if something was AAD then you were getting "the same thing you'd have gotten otherwise".
Basically the upshot is rigid A/B/X testing proved that people couldn't hear more bits than 16 or higher sample rates than 44.1Khz, so CD is already as good as anyone can hear
22:40
But mastering, that's a crime how it's done and ruins music.
