Well, the occupancy sensor and EEPROM should be pretty easy to bang bits at in master mode. The slave mode interface I'm happy to have a real I2C controller for.

For embedded projects I think the real value is minimizing NRE costs. Anything that makes your embedded team faster is generally worth it.

But if part cost difference * estimated qty > cost of your time, either they think they’ll sell a ton or they think your time is really cheap!
Tell that to either of the companies I'm working for now. Their hardware engineers are obsessed with BOM cost and pretty indifferent to impact on time to market

Actually, it kind of depends on the person and what they wanna do. Might be running around like crazy trying to meet in person all the people they usually know online. Might be hitting up the dealers den and seeing all the artwork and other creative stuff available there. Might be attending panels and... uh, learning things about furry stuff and whatnot. Might be hanging out in social areas and meeting new furries in person. Might be room parties and drunken debauchery.
Probably other things too I'm missing. :3

Last year’s FC was my first con, I spent a lot of it wandering around dealers/artists. I gots bunch of at-con commissions (including badges!), which was great. Wish I’d taken more pictures of and hugged more cute suits. Panels and talks were hit or miss, but a few were excellent, and it seemed fine to sneak out the back of ones that weren’t a good fit for me.
