when i was taking classes at techshop the thing i had the hardest time with was the table saw. because i was terrified of it, and when something started go go weird with it i had no idea how to recover back to a safe state. like you're pushing something through and it jams, what do you do. you can't stop to analyze the situation, there's this... thing... in front of you which at any moment might eject the wood at about a million miles an hour STRAIGHT AT YOUR FACE. and you have to make a split second decision.
