<2022-10-11T16:25:17.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I have an interview today to be an insurance salesmen. Any tips?
<2022-10-11T16:29:25.000Z> Terry: Is it over the phone or as a field agent?
<2022-10-11T16:30:48.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: idk it says going to accounts.
<2022-10-11T16:32:10.000Z> Terry: If you can talk about sales experience and how you're good communicating with people and try to understand their needs that would help. What company is it?
<2022-10-11T16:34:27.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: it's for employment insurance
<2022-10-11T16:35:48.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: and I literally did account stuff when I was at my other place. I just don't think there's going to be enough money in it for me
<2022-10-11T16:36:10.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I am not asking to make 100k a year just want to pay my bills and maybe upgrade some stuff
<2022-10-11T16:36:16.000Z> Terry: ADP?
<2022-10-11T16:36:42.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: it's aflac
<2022-10-11T16:44:31.000Z> Terry: I think I interviewed with them before but didn't take the job. Well previous sales and insurance experience is a plus. Insurance is about understanding the client needs and making the best recomendation for them. Also like other sales gigs handling objections and rebuttals. You probably won't be doing this over the phone like I did, you'll probably be face to face so people skills is very important.Just make sure its not commission only. A lot of insurance places don't pay you a base salary.
<2022-10-11T16:45:21.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: right. I am not about to do a commission only job.
<2022-10-11T16:45:37.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: so this medical transport place offered me 60 hours no benefits at 12 and hour
<2022-10-11T16:45:41.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I laughed
<2022-10-11T21:51:48.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: wish me luck.
<2022-10-11T21:51:56.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I think I am going to go for it.
<2022-10-11T22:24:26.000Z> Terry: Good luck
<2022-10-11T22:50:13.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: did anyone do any top gun edits of rand?
<2022-10-11T22:55:52.000Z> Terry: I don't remember I missed much of the stream last night
<2022-10-12T22:01:00.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: interview tomorrow any advice?
<2022-10-12T22:24:54.000Z> Terry: I mean be prepared for the normal interview questions, like they ask name some examples of good things you did at previous employer, name some strengths, the name one weakness is trying to trip you up but you name something really benign and they explain how you overcome it.
<2022-10-12T22:26:00.000Z> Terry: talk about previous sales experience and any how it taught you to understand the clients needs and wants and balance those out
<2022-10-12T22:26:30.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: my sales expierence is I am going to wear my dads and grandpas ties and they sold stuff right
<2022-10-12T22:26:36.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: osmosis d00b
<2022-10-12T22:26:55.000Z> Terry: I think you will be ok if you show up 10 minutes early, dressed nice and talk in coherent sentences
<2022-10-12T22:26:59.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I did stuff before that was related to customer needs and wants
<2022-10-12T22:27:04.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I talk super fast
<2022-10-12T22:27:07.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I need to slow down
<2022-10-12T22:27:26.000Z> Terry: yeah don't talk to fast
<2022-10-12T22:27:42.000Z> Terry: have you ever had to do an interview before?
<2022-10-12T22:28:08.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: yes I have averaged 2 a month for 6 months
<2022-10-12T22:28:14.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: but none of the jobs were worth it
<2022-10-12T22:29:16.000Z> Terry: ok so you remember they sometimes throw you some curve balls. Basically just be prepared for the basic questions they ALWAYS ask, make sure you can explain what you (supposedly) do already and why you would be a good fit.
<2022-10-12T22:30:35.000Z> Terry: The one thing is just be careful and make sure its not commission only. If it was for a good company like Prudential or Mutual of Omaha or whatever that would be one thing but you don't wanna be working for no base for Aflac
<2022-10-12T22:32:41.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I did they made me write up an email there was literally a test at the end
<2022-10-12T22:32:59.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: so she only kept the info up for like 1 minute on who to send the email to and I capped it immediately
<2022-10-12T22:33:13.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: that was part of the test to see if you're paying attention
<2022-10-12T22:33:23.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: they give me 2 accounts after training
<2022-10-12T22:33:25.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: GIVE ME
<2022-10-12T22:33:58.000Z> Terry: was that one of those tests to see if you actually know how to use a computer lol
<2022-10-12T22:34:56.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: so I got a call in the middle of the meeting and my phone had webex on it and it went silent so I logged into webex on my computer and I was duel logged in missed maybe 20 seconds
<2022-10-12T22:35:04.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: dude then get this
<2022-10-12T22:35:20.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I get done and I pick up my phone drop it and it hits the foot of my desk and cracks the screen
<2022-10-12T22:35:35.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: must have been a perfect fall too
<2022-10-12T22:35:42.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: note 8 so not a piece of shit
<2022-10-12T22:35:47.000Z> Terry: oh shit.
<2022-10-12T22:35:51.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: the glass the phone is shit
<2022-10-12T22:36:00.000Z> Terry: Do you have insurance?
<2022-10-12T22:36:02.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: I need to get it fixed but I thought that was an LOL
<2022-10-12T22:36:12.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: it's only 60 bucks to get fixed
<2022-10-12T22:39:11.000Z> Terry: well I guess thats not too bad
<2022-10-12T22:39:36.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: nah im good but I thought it was funny
<2022-10-12T22:39:41.000Z> D00B@seal.cafe: like nigger perfect timing
