<2022-09-06T10:43:03.000Z> oldmate: Just how much autism do you have exactly, friend?
<2022-09-06T11:00:31.000Z> underworld: uhhh depends on my mood
<2022-09-06T11:00:48.000Z> underworld: i change everyday
<2022-09-06T11:00:52.000Z> underworld: like the wind
<2022-09-06T11:00:56.000Z> underworld: its natural
<2022-09-06T11:38:03.000Z> oldmate: I have a few questions:
<2022-09-06T11:38:20.000Z> oldmate: Do you have many collections, and if so what of?
<2022-09-06T11:38:42.000Z> oldmate: Are you currently employed?
<2022-09-06T11:39:07.000Z> oldmate: Lastly, what is your favourite food and drink?
<2022-09-06T11:41:09.000Z> underworld: i have hundreds of dollars worth of anime figures, stuffed animals, grew up with a vg collector and had every system practically along with tons of games and he made me a collector of a ton of shit. am employed but was at my happiest during covid and during my 4 years of being a neet and its hard for me to have a favorite food, its always changing but i drank pepsi for years straight and always order mozarella sticks and or wings when i go out to eat most of the time
<2022-09-06T11:41:23.000Z> underworld: boneless wings, some might say tendies adjacent
<2022-09-06T11:42:16.000Z> underworld: actually my CURRENT favorite drink though would probably be pepsi nitro, and im loving the coke creations series
<2022-09-06T11:46:44.000Z> oldmate: Interesting. A man of culture.
<2022-09-06T11:48:06.000Z> oldmate: I dont really collect anything myself. I used to save all my bottlecaps when i was drinking pretty heavily but ive stopped both of those habits to the beat of my current ability.
<2022-09-06T11:49:02.000Z> oldmate: I eat a lot of steak and potatoes. Drink mostly water and tea and coffee now.
<2022-09-06T11:49:37.000Z> oldmate: Also employed. Never tried the NEET life but ive certainly been tempted in the past.
<2022-09-06T11:50:22.000Z> underworld: YES. my dad very much emphasized my upbringing around being culturally informed, all the music, movies, video games. he would introduce me to things and explain their significance or how they impacted culture etc it was fun
<2022-09-06T11:51:21.000Z> underworld: we didnt have much money but he always encouraged my interest in things and did what he could to cultivate any interests i had and i did appreciate that a lot. its made me more consumerist than is healthy but im working on that balance you know
<2022-09-06T11:52:07.000Z> underworld: if youre okay being employed then just dont try the neet life unless you have the means to stay there. it will fuck you up
<2022-09-06T11:52:47.000Z> oldmate: How so? Does it make you too comfortable being lazy?
<2022-09-06T11:52:59.000Z> underworld: not that its any healthier or good to be working so damn much and having no time for enrichment but its even harder once youve taken a considerable amount of time to yourself. it also gets really fucking isolating
<2022-09-06T11:54:32.000Z> oldmate: I used to smoke way too much weed when i was younger and i had to stop being i grew too confortable just existing without going anywhere or doing anyyhing or growing as a person. I imagine NEETdom could foster similar results witjout discipline.
<2022-09-06T11:54:52.000Z> underworld: HERES THE THING i dont think laziness is necessarily real as much as its capitalist propaganda to convince you that what you enjoy spending time doing and how you delegate your time is wrong
<2022-09-06T11:55:11.000Z> oldmate: Apologies for all the spelling mistakes. Phone posting - not actually retarded.
<2022-09-06T11:55:26.000Z> underworld: but once you get to enjoy life the way that suits you its hard to go back to a meaningless grind you know
<2022-09-06T11:56:09.000Z> oldmate: Oh yeah definitely. And a meaningless grinder is way worse in my opinion than a neet.
<2022-09-06T11:56:23.000Z> underworld: yeah, i did the same thing with weed towards my later neet years and early working years. glad to hear that youve both stopped that and heavy drinking!
<2022-09-06T11:57:23.000Z> oldmate: Thanks, friend. I had a good run but i couldnt keep doing it as i got older. Met a nice girl and needes to keep my health.
<2022-09-06T11:59:02.000Z> underworld: my other view of laziness is like, its a reaction to the capitalism grind if that makes sense. if we were set up to have more fulfilling upbringings and school was more enriching and personalized and not hours upon hours and years upon years of learning more complex versions of the same things and then immediately after that grinding at the same jobs for the rest of your life, we would be a lot less depressed and more motivated because we would have cultivated our own interests and fostered growth and idea sharing etc
<2022-09-06T12:00:59.000Z> underworld: also yeah i agree. meaningless grind is worse than neet, even if youre literally doing nothing at home all day. but dont be a neet unless you never have to go back to meaningless grind because it just makes the grind harder to bare
<2022-09-06T12:01:00.000Z> oldmate: I agree completely
<2022-09-06T12:02:36.000Z> underworld: happy that youve found a nice girl!! and happy she made you feel motivated to improve yourself. thats the same reason i quit smoking too! just make sure you do self improvement for yourself and not just for her. its an important balance to retain your sense of self
<2022-09-06T12:03:33.000Z> oldmate: I would agree in theory with capitalism as an economic structure. I just dont think what we have is capitalism anymore. Its just corruption and incompetence pretending to still be capitalism, but without the possibility for any competition left.
<2022-09-06T12:04:49.000Z> oldmate: Then again i could just be describing late stage capitalism, couldnt I?
<2022-09-06T12:15:31.000Z> underworld: yeah its not that i dont think capitalism works, even though im quite a bit socialist im not anti capitalist im anti american capitalist
<2022-09-06T12:17:13.000Z> underworld: i actually started calling it lazy capitalism for a few reasons, firstly i think its funny to throw their own propaganda words at them and secondly its because at this point our country is just the rich and people in power doing and giving as little as possible to keep getting profit
<2022-09-06T12:18:15.000Z> underworld: theres no product quality, no one cares to have meaningful or real messages and incentives behind their company aside from just giving the people what they want to hear as a stunt to make more money. theres no meaning or effort into any of it
<2022-09-06T12:18:48.000Z> underworld: create cheap products with cheap values and price them as high as u can
<2022-09-06T12:32:37.000Z> oldmate: I only know about America from hyper partisan media unfortunately as im actually from Australia myself.
<2022-09-06T12:33:16.000Z> oldmate: But i think what you just described is becoming a trend here too unfortunately
<2022-09-06T12:35:02.000Z> oldmate: Definitely our media has changed hugely for the worse in recent years. Politics is a joke here, and half the articles on some of the online news sources are about 'influencers' or are just straight up advertisments for TV shows and air fryers now.
<2022-09-06T12:41:08.000Z> underworld: yeah unfortunately once america convinced everyone we were the peak of all potential society everybody started emulating it and its just gonna get them into the same fucked up dystopian tragedy
