<2021-11-29T23:55:14.000Z> nozaki: Hey Pony, I know we don't interact too much, but as a big part of the fedi sphere I was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving me your opinion on a project I'm trying to put together.
<2021-11-29T23:59:08.000Z> nozaki: It's mostly because I want to start getting my feet wet with learning some simple coding but also something that might be fun. I think php would be best, but I'm mostly interested in your opinion on the cultural part of it rather than the tech part. Happy of course to hear your other thoughts. Let me know if you want to hear about it
<2021-12-02T09:05:59.000Z> PonyPanda@freespeechextremist.com: Sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely manner. I mostly use bloat-fe and it doesn't have chats.
<2021-12-02T09:06:09.000Z> PonyPanda@freespeechextremist.com: What did you want my opinion on, fren?
<2021-12-02T16:21:07.000Z> nozaki: It's all good, I assumed it was something along the lines of an issue between instances. If you prefer I can just use regular posts and make them only visible to you. In fact, please continue the conversation that way if you want.So the basic idea is I wanted to create a user created choose your-own-fedi-adventure. The basic gist would be that there is a first chapter that is set and at the end it offers choices/links users can click on. If someone has written that "chapter" already, a reader many continue clicking links and reading though it based on their choices. Now, what happens if there is no next chapter? Clicking on a choice with nothing written would prompt the user to create their own "chapter" should that choice have been made. For example: "Some twitter faggot has been banned and desperate for dopamine. He is too lazy to get a google voice number and instead decides to join the fediverse. Being a retard, he doesn't understand why there are different sites with different UIs or what federated means. After poking around these instances, he decides to join...1)noagenda.social2)neckbeard3)varishangout4)A different one5)"Maybe I'll just make my own."Users can click any of those 5 and write what would happen next, or if it's already written, they can read what others wrote. I'd like everything to be text as much as possible, because I don't want to moderate it much and there's not too much you can do with just text.I haven't coded it yet at all and still designing it, but I'd like to hear some feedback from you as a guy who is very involved in things what you think about it. My main concerns are getting people to write. I think a paragraph or two per entry is ideal. It would be funnier if things moved quickly between many writers with different voices. Is it too much for people to write? Would anyone even do this? It's not something like fediwiki which is more inside jokes and short entries. I'm kind of hesitant because I feel like it will eventually just become runia fanfiction or something along those lines.
<2021-12-02T16:57:43.000Z> nozaki: I know this is a lot, so feel free to take your time responding to this, as I'm still figuring out how to do it anyway.
<2021-12-17T05:24:21.000Z> nozaki: Hey Pony forget about this, just wanted to see if you're good. You haven't posted in a long time and wanted to see if you're doing alright.
