<2023-02-07T21:40:24.000Z> Foil_Hatter@chudbuds.lol: Carrier lock is done by IMEI (phones serial nr.) That, as fas as I know, for Pixel, is stored in special partition (device info partition). Flashjing OS will not fix it as long as it is not updating devinfo, so phone remains locked. You have very high risk bricking the phone or fucking up some of the features by changing data there, but if you find a reliable way to change IMEI, you will unlock the carrier lock. IMEI is usually stored in multiple locations and might be encrypted.

Telecom switches log everything so if you fail changing the IMEI and try logging on the network with same SIM (same IMSI) after you succeed - they will know that you changed the IMEI. It will still be unlocked, but if someone tries to find the phone or prove it's been stolen, here's your link to it.
