<2022-12-14T17:23:43.000Z> graf: i mean i can but it might break your account and i also cant for several hours at the very least
<2022-12-14T17:33:03.000Z> graf: just so you are aware deleting your messages on poast doesnt delete them from other instances if they choose not to honor deletes
<2022-12-14T17:34:20.000Z> graf: I'll try it tonight then when I have time
<2023-01-12T03:36:08.000Z> graf: because i have to actually modify the backend to be able to do this its going to be a little while before i get around to it but it is on my plate and i will get around to it sometime in the next week or two, sorry friend
<2023-01-12T05:13:37.000Z> graf: looks like I was able to add the changes I needed fairly easily, it will take a couple days to wipe them all I think but it should be going
<2023-01-12T05:14:43.000Z> graf: keep in mind i will not keep doing this, this is a one time thing because it is very destructive to our database and it is not nice to our neighbors who get delete requests for everything from us
<2023-01-12T17:21:02.000Z> BigTone: Ok thanks I didn't realize it had that much of an impact
<2023-01-12T17:21:21.000Z> graf: yeah unfortunately the software wasnt designed to do that
<2023-01-12T17:21:24.000Z> BigTone: Looks like it worked
<2023-01-12T17:22:21.000Z> graf: when you make a post it is spread out to thousands of servers we connect with. in order for us to wipe it, we have to send a delete request to those thousand servers for every status you make. so, poast is aware of 17,000 servers, you had about 2000 posts so thats about 34 million different delete requests poast has to send out
