<2023-02-15T04:19:48.000Z> collatz: Hope your mom recovers well. I've had some similar experiences w/ my father in recent years, and it can be tough. If you find yourself involved in a difficult way, always willing to share what little I've found in muddling through. Good luck to her & you both
<2023-02-15T10:01:57.000Z> lichelordgodfrey: Thanks. She's always been strong, though, and really hates being reliant on other people. But she has to this time. I really hope she will be able to retire rather than go back to work, unless she gets some easy deskjob. She had to have this surgery (and several others) because of a work-related injury. She had to sue to get them to pay for it all. Thankfully the lawyer will collect a nice fee for himself at the end and it's so obvious/egregious it won't cost us anything other than that.
<2023-02-15T15:38:09.000Z> collatz: Ah, more the back issue than an ongoing cardiovascular/stroke risk. I'm sure it can go either way, but seeing the latter through dementia, and having my own experience w/ a herniated disc, the latter seems to be (relatively/on-average) more recoverable so good for her. Glad too that the legal system isn't totally short-end-of-the-stick-ing her. Well-wishes, and prayers that she gets back to a fulfilling place. Later man
