<2021-11-30T16:57:18.000Z> Type_Other: How are you holding up? Sounded like Thanksgiving was rough.
<2021-11-30T17:04:35.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Oh I'm okay. Have all that crap suppressed again. Just rough whenever my brother and sister-in-law visit, makes it all inescapable for a while.
<2021-11-30T17:04:42.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: I'm sorry I worried you
<2021-11-30T17:42:08.000Z> Type_Other: Nah, it's good. We've got our own family issue with my sister. Lots of mental health issues, meth history, begs on the street most days, and steals stuff whenever she comes to our parents' place. Thanksgiving and Christmas always have huge fights about things going missing when she's around.
<2021-11-30T17:52:18.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Oof. My boss' daughter does meth and does all the same stuff. I know how tiring that is. I'm sorry you've got that in your family, man
<2022-03-17T21:13:32.000Z> Type_Other: I've always been a little bothered when similar stats can be totally independent from each other, so I've kicked around an idea involving shared dice. You might have 3 determining a stat, but the middle die is shared between two sub-stats. A shared die would ensure e.g. you can't have extremely high constitution without being *at least average* in strength. I haven't nailed anything down yet but I like the feel of it.
<2022-03-17T21:15:02.000Z> Type_Other: Might look something like that. https://i.poastcdn.org/c5c35d97bfb79da000797f087f068bf8f8ceee110b62b55d17e240142eb26d0a.png
<2022-03-17T21:18:52.000Z> Type_Other: Actually, will post it in the thread. Just didn't wanna hijack it.
<2022-03-17T21:19:07.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Ah interesting, though it would incentivize always putting the largest die in the middle so that it provides the most benefit by affecting two other stats. Which you did account for in that example.
<2022-03-17T21:19:17.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Are these dice pools of d6s?
<2022-03-17T21:20:28.000Z> Type_Other: That was the idea, but I'm not married to them since the low cap would almost always mean 5 or 6 in the middle.
<2022-03-17T21:21:32.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Gotcha. I think I need to know more about your core resolution system. Is this for a d20 game? A 'hit' counting game? What're we talking?
<2022-03-17T21:24:50.000Z> Type_Other: Not sure yet, haven't given it any more thought than tying stats together with shared dice. Trying to merge it with another idea I'll mention about damage types.
<2022-03-17T21:26:05.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Well I don't know if you're interested, but we do have a Little Wars Discord server where we talk about roleplaying games among other things. It'd be a good place for discussing roleplaying game design if you'd like to join and chat.
<2022-03-17T22:02:26.000Z> Type_Other: Oh yeah, I'd check it out.
<2022-03-17T22:03:24.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: Cool! Here's the invite link: https://discord.gg/gRHnzMn2qq
<2022-03-17T22:03:41.000Z> Insomnolant@pleroma.nobodyhasthe.biz: We do a vetting voice chat with everyone who joins but in your case it'd just be a formality
