<2022-06-21T16:22:42.000Z> MyLittleFashy: Hello brother,I write you this to thank you, I just listened to your “Very Lutheran 4” podcast/internet rant (the one just after you got fired for wrongthink), and it talked to me in a way that I didn’t find elsewhere. Not going to go into long and painful details about my situation (I would be glad to, but your time is valuable!), suffice it to say that I was betrayed by the RCC and forced into a divorce, which led to me blaming the institution for facilitating and morally encouraging mortal sin and spending the last 6 years spiritually homeless. For all these years, I couldn’t find a reason why God would test me this way, I didn’t blame him, but I didn’t understand either. It seems that he sent you to tell me, it was pride, I felt safe in my righteousness and in that pride, I neglected to simply… ask him for help, yeah it’s that dumb and that simple…Still spiritually homeless, but at least now I feel that I can pray about it without feeling weird.Thank you, thank GodIf only I still had a Pastorum to Pugnus, I would!
<2022-06-21T17:11:12.000Z> SuperLutheran: Well I'm happy to hear our Lord is using me to help you, man.
<2022-06-21T17:11:31.000Z> SuperLutheran: I pray that He'll guide you to a good church that is consistently about the Word.
<2022-06-21T17:12:38.000Z> SuperLutheran: I'm sorry to hear the RCC went nuts on you like that. Seems there's a temptation for all clergy to go with the flow of what the world presents as morality, and it's leading to some ugly consequences.
<2022-06-25T16:09:55.000Z> MyLittleFashy: I’d love to find a church, but if on one hand the RCC has huge territorial penetration here in France (maybe still the world record of parish density…) on the other hand, denominational choice is very limited, for now I go to Catholic mass, but doing it holding my nose is not a good situation, trust is broken.I’m prejudiced, maybe for bad reasons, against “too low” church, because I tend to associate it with unbridled innovation, cultish tendencies, and uneducated pastors (and in France, honestly with black churches).I don’t believe that I have any irreconcilable divergences with Lutheranism, after all, it’s basically well understood Catholicism without the Pope (especially since Catholicism has seen the light about sola fides), and the Papacy seems to be in a very bad chapter currently. Now, the big issue I’m looking at is basically that the main “unified reformist” synod in France is so liberal that it has elected a female pastor as head of the council...There are two Lutheran parishes affiliated with a minority conservative (for Europe) synod that is affiliated with the Missouri Synod, should I run away or try to go there?I’m not looking for muh based racist Church, I don’t care if they finance missions in Africa or pray for refugees or even if the Pastor is black or whatever so long as they don’t tolerate globohomo values. It’s starting to look like an email to the godcast, but since it’s specifically about Lutheran synod politics, why involve the Baptist Polak ?PS: It should be obvious, but in currentyear it needs to be said, I fully intend to stay true to my marriage oath, a church that insists that I should stay abstinent until my death would not only be not a problem, but a very welcome one. I did get support and encouragement in that manner from pious Catholic -laity-, but those are all wandering around the exit door too…
<2022-06-25T16:10:21.000Z> MyLittleFashy: Sorry for the wall of runes, did not find how to add paragraph spacing :-(
<2022-06-27T17:17:22.000Z> SuperLutheran: Don't worry about formatting lol
<2022-06-27T17:17:44.000Z> SuperLutheran: Brother, if a Lutheran church is in communion with the Missouri Synod (LCMS), they're going to be solid theologically.
<2022-06-27T17:18:20.000Z> SuperLutheran: You'd be right at home there, especially if that parish is liturgical.
<2022-06-27T17:18:46.000Z> SuperLutheran: I'd say give them a shot, let me know how it goes, and if they sucked or preached poz, then I'll buy you a bottle of wine to make up for it lol
<2022-06-28T04:51:06.000Z> MyLittleFashy: All right, thanks !
