<2021-04-10T02:25:06.000Z> SultanOfSloth: Lord Mantis fucking rips, nigger. I was actually indulging in some shit I used to be into - leftover crack and choking victim. They’re basically black metal punk ska. The main dude is a lefty faggot for the most part but not quite to the point of wokeism. Hates bankers and all kek
<2021-04-10T03:02:27.000Z> MisterLister: I'm so glad you like em man! They are one of my favourite bands idk why I don't have one of their shirts. I'll check those out when I get a chance it's just rn I need the euphoria from post metal and don't feel like venturing to something new.
<2021-04-10T03:03:52.000Z> SultanOfSloth: Fair enough. I’ve taken several year breaks at a time from metal, used to play it once upon a time.
<2021-04-10T03:04:44.000Z> MisterLister: In terms of Lord mantis tho check out the song "death mask" that one fucking slays I've injured myself during workout sessions thanks to that song punching walls and shit after a good set
<2021-04-10T03:06:06.000Z> MisterLister: I've been really into metal for 8ish years now, I've only taken a month or two break here and there to listen to swans and death grips lol
<2021-04-10T03:07:18.000Z> SultanOfSloth: Listening to it know it’s fuckin great. I played metal once upon a time. youtu.be/xKtq_-eyYzE - I came into that band, “after death” song is all me tho basically. I’ve been into metal since the 90s. Swans are cool. I like shit like guided by voices too ffs.
<2021-04-10T03:08:11.000Z> SultanOfSloth: Death Mask is REALLY Good surprised you’re not into OG black metal tbh
<2021-04-10T03:55:23.000Z> MisterLister: I'll check those out soon
<2021-04-10T03:56:23.000Z> MisterLister: I'm not too into Og black metal cause I'm a sperg when it comes to production quality, if you can link me to some black metal that doesn't sound like it was recorded with a tape recorder in a basement I'm sure I''d like it
<2021-04-10T03:59:44.000Z> SultanOfSloth: One of the big appeals of the OG stuff is the shit sound quality. Maybe it’s an acquired taste kinda thing. I was that way when I was younger. I loved metal first l, then punk later, helped me appreciate the crap sound quality stuff tbh. Took me a LONG time to get there.
<2021-04-10T04:01:00.000Z> SultanOfSloth: But being a musician, hearing shit sound quality, my first reaction is oh that’s something my buddy did
<2021-04-10T04:17:13.000Z> MisterLister: I kinda get that becuase in my city their were alot more "beatdown" bands than anything and I wouldn't mind hearing them, some of them I really enjoyed experiencing live but whenever spotify throws on beatdown I instantly skip it.
