<2021-09-29T19:45:40.000Z> Shitbird_69: If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. Retired recently so I've got nothing better to do than crush truly, bicep curls & talk gats.
<2021-09-30T01:19:59.000Z> professionalbigot69: everyone on /k/'s /arg/ keep recommending FN
<2021-09-30T01:20:10.000Z> professionalbigot69: however, I do not trust the Belgians
<2021-09-30T02:39:02.000Z> Shitbird_69: Yeah it's/k/. Fun for shitposting but honestly it's kinda retarded.
<2021-09-30T02:40:19.000Z> Shitbird_69: My advice, define what your mission profile is (intened use for the firearm), then your price range then go from there.
<2021-09-30T02:42:22.000Z> Shitbird_69: FN isn't bad, carried an M16 & M4 with FN components and there nice. Remember the m16/m4 legacy system is considered in spec at 4 MOA. Odd are whatever you pic will honestly outshoot you mechanically.
<2021-09-30T02:45:17.000Z> Shitbird_69: Shit, my current DM AR15 build has a PSA barrel. Sub MOA with 77 grain M262's. Get what you can afford, practice, practice, practice and you'll be fine. Your not trying to impress anyone with a roll mark your trying to build & develop skills.
<2021-09-30T02:50:33.000Z> Shitbird_69: Hope that helps, again ballistic advantage is solid. Somewhat unknown so your not paying extra for a name.
<2021-09-30T02:56:42.000Z> Shitbird_69: End of the day you are the weapon, the rifle is a tool.
<2021-09-30T12:08:46.000Z> professionalbigot69: I kinda don't care much about weight. should I go with the govt/heavy profile or the Hanson profile?
<2021-09-30T15:54:31.000Z> Shitbird_69: Heavy profile barrels are good for match rifles & if someone wanted to set up an RPK type platform. I've got my issues with the A2 "government profile" as it was changed from the A1 "pencil barrel" based on false information & the end result is a weapon that is heavier for no reason. Being said, all of mine are government profile because I too do not care about weight & am not a sperg when it comes to ounces. Hanson looks neat, of it looks like something that suits your needs go for it, if not the government profile is fine. Don't go heavy profile unless your building something that needs that extra mass.
<2021-09-30T17:52:27.000Z> Shitbird_69: Have you settled on what optic (if any) you intend to use? If you don't mind me asking what is the sort of buikd you're going for? CQB, service rifle/general purpose, marksmanship rifle etc?
<2021-09-30T22:27:59.000Z> professionalbigot69: just need to replace a 16" PSA barrel
<2021-09-30T22:30:28.000Z> professionalbigot69: and just a dot sight
<2021-09-30T22:45:49.000Z> Shitbird_69: Ok. I've been messing with the primary arms 2x prism for awhile. Decent affordable optic, planning on replacing the eotech on my mk18 with the 1x PA prism as I want an etched reticle over just a pure dot.
<2021-09-30T22:46:35.000Z> Shitbird_69: The BA 16 mid length gas system is a direct improvement over the PSA
<2021-09-30T22:50:01.000Z> Shitbird_69: Being said, I've got an ACOG on my 16 because it is far and away the best service rifle optic out there. Got it from a buddy as I would pay retail for it tbh.
<2021-09-30T23:14:12.000Z> professionalbigot69: ballisticadvantage.com/16-5-56-ba-hanson-midlength-ar-15-barrel-w-lo-pro-performance-series-625-gas-block-journal.html
<2021-09-30T23:14:17.000Z> professionalbigot69: this a good choice?
<2021-09-30T23:26:30.000Z> professionalbigot69: would BA be considered a "Mil-Spec +" manufacturer?
<2021-10-01T02:26:37.000Z> Shitbird_69: Yes, that looks like a solid barrel to build around as a service/ patrol/ general purpose rifle.
<2021-10-01T02:30:32.000Z> Shitbird_69: Milspec is just tolerances, I don't know of any AR manufacturer that actively puts out gear that is not in spec. Gissele doesn't do this ballisticadvantage.com/sub-moa
<2021-10-01T02:32:38.000Z> Shitbird_69: Real talk most of the things are very similar, the big differences in manufacturers are the ones that put stuff together poorly. PSA used to get a bad reputation because of that, there QC has improved but it's hard to shake the d reputation.
<2021-10-01T14:24:09.000Z> professionalbigot69: wish there was an bullpup AR-15 equivalent
<2021-10-01T14:24:26.000Z> professionalbigot69: open up a whole new set of barrel lengths to play with
<2021-10-01T14:24:55.000Z> professionalbigot69: but then you'd have to deal with the OAL and LOP regulations of various states
<2021-10-01T14:37:30.000Z> Shitbird_69: I mean, there's the AUG and Tavor, but the gmbug thing with the AR15 is that it's ubiquitous now, like I'm not big on glockenspiel but they have effectively set the standard as far as striker fired poly framed pistols go. Tbh though a m16 length AR isn't as unwieldy as you'd think.
<2021-10-01T14:37:54.000Z> Shitbird_69: The hera Arms stock looks kinda interesting, never messed with that though.
<2021-10-01T14:38:22.000Z> Shitbird_69: Unrelated, fuck I hate typing on my phone
<2021-10-01T16:14:04.000Z> Shitbird_69: Oh and that desert tech thing, that actively looks pretty neat.
<2021-10-01T16:41:50.000Z> professionalbigot69: what I meant was basically having as many ar-15 parts compatible in a billion platform
<2021-10-01T16:46:27.000Z> Shitbird_69: I think I'm picking up what your putting down. It's a solid platform as is, and there's a reason why the AR15 is the standard against which all other fighting rifles are judged.
<2021-10-01T16:47:08.000Z> professionalbigot69: I have no idea why bullpup got corrected to 'billion'
<2021-10-01T16:47:16.000Z> professionalbigot69: but I'm glad you get what I'm saying
<2021-10-01T16:51:45.000Z> Shitbird_69: I think it'd just add a layer of mechanical complexity that doesn't provide enough benefit to justify that many potential points of failure.
<2021-10-02T14:19:06.000Z> professionalbigot69: thoughts on the Strike Industries latchless CH?
<2021-10-02T14:19:36.000Z> professionalbigot69: think it's at least better than the milspec CH?
<2021-10-02T23:48:35.000Z> Shitbird_69: Milspec doesn't mean bad, it means "good enough to take into a fight". Get good with basic stuff, it's typically cheaper than anything else & you can use the extra duckets for ammo or frankly gas money swing how things are going. Only aftermarket charging handle I felt was worth it was the PRI gasbuster and that was so I could port the extra gas from my can away from me. Tbh I still think I should have stuck with the one I made myself but whatever that money was burning a hole in my wallet. I've seen men with basic Milspec gear outshoot guys with all kinds of money thrown at there rifle. You can't buy proficiency, that has to come with time & training.
<2021-10-02T23:50:32.000Z> Shitbird_69: Tldr get what works, and is in budget for you. My buddy runs one of the larger gun Instagram pages & they have guys at there range days who go into debt to buy fuckinh quadnods & things like that.
<2021-10-03T00:02:06.000Z> Shitbird_69: Then again, if you want it go for it dude. Rule number one is Always look cool, after all.
<2021-10-15T04:03:35.000Z> professionalbigot69: I'm going full retard
<2021-10-15T04:03:43.000Z> professionalbigot69: 12” 6.5 grendel DMR
<2021-10-15T04:04:17.000Z> professionalbigot69: because fuck them niggas right there and fuck them niggas all the way over there
<2021-10-15T06:45:32.000Z> Shitbird_69: Lol fuck yeah send it man
<2021-10-15T06:46:04.000Z> Shitbird_69: Just remember to feed it and you've got a hell of a bangstick
