<2023-04-22T20:47:46.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I went to dingos stream for a minute to see what was going on and I didn't say anything in chat but look what that psycho who has been trying to turn us against each other said. Kinda odd how he is just now donating and donating fairly large sums too. Seems fishy to me but at least Rand (and dingo to a lesser extent haha) will put his money to better use than he could. https://nicecrew.digital/media/c38442e50f917e2b100b37ba2127840333f7881ad801dddbfd45aac49898d859.jpeg
<2023-04-22T20:49:57.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: He thinks I'm a zoomer and that I have a gab, telegram, and am connected to others in chat aside from just chatting with them LOL. It's a cheesy phrase but evidently "I live rent free in his head." Only other person I've seen who donates like that is Finklestein and I think Terry used to as well but those guys never stir shit up with chat...
<2023-04-22T20:51:30.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: By the way, I have those pictures of the BMW on another phone so I'll try and send them this summer. When I do send them I'll ask that you don't share them with anyone because it could potentially dox me and I'll also tell you the history behind the car. Since you said you're from Texas you might even know or have heard about some of the people involved with it.
<2023-04-22T20:53:35.000Z> RangoDingbot: Was that in last nights stream? Yeah that melungeon guy is strange imo
<2023-04-22T20:53:52.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: It was in dingos stream last night
<2023-04-22T20:54:01.000Z> RangoDingbot: And absolutely i wouldnt share pics.
<2023-04-22T20:54:04.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: He's obsessed with me
<2023-04-22T20:54:17.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Do you know who Randy Pobst is?
<2023-04-22T20:54:21.000Z> RangoDingbot: oh i see. I fell asleep early in dingos stream lol
<2023-04-22T20:54:32.000Z> RangoDingbot: No doesnt familiar
<2023-04-22T20:55:00.000Z> RangoDingbot: i used to get into the bmw meets when i was a teen and in my 20s but fell out of it lol
<2023-04-22T20:55:48.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: He's a famous race car driver and also tests cars for magazines and such. He does a lot of the driving when it comes to them getting lap times for new cars for magazines like Motor Trend I think. Badass driver and all around nice guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Pobst
<2023-04-22T20:57:12.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: He raced the car I'm talking about earlier in his career and there is footage of it in a race on youtube somewhere. It's an E-30 325is I believe which was stripped down for SCCA racing. Has a straight 6 and 5 speed transmission with a differential from the M3 I believe.
<2023-04-22T20:57:14.000Z> RangoDingbot: Here are 2 of mine. The e30 my dad bought in 1990 and handed down to me in around 2002/3 and ive been slowly restoring it. Crack free original dash, new leather, new German canvas top, euro headlights, newish 5 spd transmission https://i.poastcdn.org/04465d3abbaf1c53094b51d8467c3329160f7101c624687fe4bb0c580281d12b.jpeg
<2023-04-22T20:57:52.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I'm not big on convertibles but it looks like it is in great shape.
<2023-04-22T20:58:00.000Z> RangoDingbot: Damn thats badass. He might’ve raced for Classic BMW at one point as the surname sounds familiar
<2023-04-22T20:58:00.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Is that a e39 in the background?
<2023-04-22T21:00:21.000Z> RangoDingbot: Thats my e46. Its an 04 automatic that i put the mtech 2 (zhp) bumpers and wheels on. Has full race suspension (i replaced everything lol), carbon fiber sunroof delete and other goodies https://i.poastcdn.org/7e4052e0909c3748221db714a8edb64f3057599f95ac9831a85518fd3ba4c4d7.jpeg
<2023-04-22T21:01:40.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: zhp was a package for 3 series right? 6 speed transmission and m3 type suspension maybe?
<2023-04-22T21:01:49.000Z> RangoDingbot: Only other thing i want to do to it is a m3 csl cf center console https://i.poastcdn.org/4593c708eac1e1aad411292ef1e7e7ae258e89467b74a080d86d38c55f088f04.jpeg
<2023-04-22T21:02:08.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: M3 CSL is one of my all time favorites.
<2023-04-22T21:02:25.000Z> RangoDingbot: yeah but mine is a 325i that i put a tune and some bolt ons on. The zhp was 330i only
<2023-04-22T21:02:42.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: That is a very nice car. Maybe one day you can swap in a 6 speed if you wanted to.
<2023-04-22T21:03:15.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Ah, I didn't know it was a 325. The ZHP was like the next step below the M3 from what I remember.
<2023-04-22T21:03:18.000Z> RangoDingbot: This is my daily, e53 x5 lci. Yeah at some point i might do a 6 spd swap https://i.poastcdn.org/031731c5f77b4e535bab910118dc0d2c263bbcea997232164c3ef036b4f59109.jpeg
<2023-04-22T21:03:22.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I like the 4 door M3s
<2023-04-22T21:03:52.000Z> RangoDingbot: Correct. I had a red zhp that i sold for double what i paid lol. It was an incredible car
<2023-04-22T21:04:15.000Z> RangoDingbot attached file https://i.poastcdn.org/e8d2067af2caea2402813a35343d90f233a582eefc356696aecf0ba5cbeea1f2.jpeg
<2023-04-22T21:04:20.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: That's nice as well. I like the BMW suvs and they seem to drive well too. The Mercedes are supposed to be more reliable but I don't think BMWs are as bad as people make them out to be if you stay on top of regular and preventative maintenance
<2023-04-22T21:04:52.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I really like that red ZHP. It would be hard to turn down double the price. Do you wish you had kept it now?
<2023-04-22T21:05:23.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Are the wheels on that silver one from a newer M3? They look familiar
<2023-04-22T21:05:25.000Z> RangoDingbot: Exactly. I do all my own work. My e30 and e46 have been parked in the garage for a while. Ive been driving mainly the X5 and the only thing ive had to do is new ignition coils
<2023-04-22T21:06:33.000Z> RangoDingbot: Sometimes i do but i love the silver grey metallic a lot. The wheels are style 135 I believe, and they came on the ZHP and i think the 135is or something
<2023-04-22T21:07:09.000Z> RangoDingbot: They’re M wheels technically but never cane on the M cars. Just the M-Tech regular series
<2023-04-22T21:08:45.000Z> RangoDingbot: bmwoemwheels.com/en/rim-model/bmw/bmw-wheel-style-135
<2023-04-22T21:09:22.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: That's why they're familiar then. I think my friend hand them on his 4 door 335i automatic
<2023-04-22T21:10:11.000Z> RangoDingbot: Oh gotcha. Yeah they’re popular since they’re like the poor mans M3 wheels lol
<2023-04-22T21:11:36.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Yep, I think they look good and they came factory on his car. His car was quick but it only had a "JuiceBox3" (I think that's the name) tune on it. My friend with the 2door 6 speed 335i had a tune, exhaust, and intake and it was very quick.
<2023-04-22T21:11:59.000Z> RangoDingbot: I had this 81 e12 528i 5spd for awhile too but just sold it a few months ago https://i.poastcdn.org/064f88efc1f7be095be5a0a48dd810b736f20f51da6663acd7ca591fd6f8dc16.jpeg
<2023-04-22T21:12:04.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I just wish BMW had given the 335s/135s limited slip differentials from the factory
<2023-04-22T21:12:34.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah i wish the all came with LSD
<2023-04-22T21:12:41.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Thats cool too. Older 5 series with straight 6 and 5 speed transmissions are probably pretty rare now
<2023-04-22T21:14:03.000Z> RangoDingbot: My brother has a lci e90 335i with JB4 tune and some other piggy back tune, big intercooler, inlets/outlets, cat free downpipes and uppipes or something lol. It has about 500hp at the crank. His differential is going out though lol
<2023-04-22T21:14:58.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: My friends car was an 07 or 08 I believe so I want to say it had the slightly better engine which was either an n54 or s54 I think?
<2023-04-22T21:15:01.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah the 70s/80s are getting hard to find. The guy i sold it to used to have a e9 3.0 cs and an e24 635is
<2023-04-22T21:15:31.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah its the n54. My bros is 09 which was the last year of n54
<2023-04-22T21:15:48.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Some guy around here was trying to swap a V8 from a 90s or early 2000s 5 series into an E-30 and I thought that was awesome. Way better than an LS swap
<2023-04-22T21:16:31.000Z> RangoDingbot: My mom has an e70 X5 with the n55, took great care of it with regular maintenance. The engine still seized due to high oil pressure. Its out front if my house waiting for me to rebuild the bottom end lol
<2023-04-22T21:16:48.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I really want to find a 4 door 335i with a 6 speed and put a Quaife or other LSD in it and do most of the bolt on upgrades along with Brembo Brakes and Bilstein or other coilovers.
<2023-04-22T21:17:09.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Was the n55 in the X5 a turbo engine?
<2023-04-22T21:17:12.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah ive seen some cool swaps in e30s. One guy on r3vlimited forums put a v12 from a 750i in his e30
<2023-04-22T21:17:55.000Z> RangoDingbot: Thatd be a sick e30. Yeah the n55 is turbo, basically the same engine as the n54 with slight technical updates
<2023-04-22T21:18:05.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I think I've seen that one. You'd think it would upset the weight balance but since they came with straight 6s and they're fairly close to being front-mid engine cars anyways I'm sure it isn't too bad.
<2023-04-22T21:18:23.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Wow, I never knew X5s had turbo engines.
<2023-04-22T21:19:04.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yup. And yeah that v12 e30 was probably a bit front heavy but i wouldnt mind lol
<2023-04-22T21:19:35.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah e70 X5s from 2010+ i think got turbos
<2023-04-22T21:20:00.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I'm hoping I'll be able to get a loan for around 20-25k this summer and I've been looking at Porsche 996s, BMW M3/M5/335/135/128, Mercedes AMG c55/e55/s55/s65, Audi S4s, Subaru WRX STi, Ford Fiesta ST, and a few other options
<2023-04-22T21:20:46.000Z> RangoDingbot: Badass. Those are all good cars
<2023-04-22T21:21:17.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I think the E30s were fairly close to 50/50 balance so if he set the engine back a little bit it probably wasn't too bad. They're light cars and simple too. I didn't know much about them until my friend got a couple but they remind me of the Germans version of Foxbody Mustangs in a way so I really like them now.
<2023-04-22T21:21:23.000Z> RangoDingbot: You might regret the 128 though and wish youd got the 135. I testvdrove a 6spd 135i yrs ago and it was fast as hell
<2023-04-22T21:22:02.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah the stock e30s can beat a stock 80s mustang in a drag race lol
<2023-04-22T21:22:24.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I agree. Those turbo 6 BMW engines are stout. I'd rather have a 135 but some of the 128s are going fairly cheap and some say they're like the last great BMW M3 type car since they're a NA straight 6
<2023-04-22T21:23:26.000Z> RangoDingbot: I could see that. I always saw the 1 series as the modern e30. Small, quick, and came with a manual
<2023-04-22T21:23:45.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I'd bet that a E-30 328 would come very close to a bone stock early or mid 80s mustang in a drag race. I'm not sure if it would beat it but the E-30s are super light and the straight 6 probably has as much power as the stock 5.0l with shitty cylinder heads so maybe it could.
<2023-04-22T21:24:22.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Either way, the E-30 is better in every other category except straight line speed. Foxbodies don't handle as well or brake as well for sure
<2023-04-22T21:24:52.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah for real haha
<2023-04-22T21:24:57.000Z> RangoDingbot: press.bmwgroup.com/united-kingdom/article/detail/T0019809EN_GB/the-bmw-concept-1-series-tii?language=en_GB
<2023-04-22T21:25:02.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Yeah, that's what some of the car writers were saying but then the M3 has had everything from a 4cylinder to a 6 cyl to a v8
<2023-04-22T21:25:20.000Z> RangoDingbot: The 1 series tii concept had me obsessed with the 1 series for a while
<2023-04-22T21:25:56.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah those e30 m3 s14 4 cylinders could have up to like 270hp iirc
<2023-04-22T21:26:09.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: The 1M is a great car but they're rare and expensive. The 135is would be nice but I'd be fine with a 135i honestly. I could have a LSD put in for under $2,000 I think.
<2023-04-22T21:26:49.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: They made some good top end high RPM power but I think they should've used their straight 6 since it has more torque and would be a better street car.
<2023-04-22T21:26:54.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah and you can find low mileage used LSDs either in facebook groups or on ebay for less than a grand
<2023-04-22T21:27:44.000Z> RangoDingbot: Well the e30 m3 was going to be track only but due to homologation rules they had to produce a certain amount of street cars for it
<2023-04-22T21:29:59.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Yeah, I'm not sure if they still have to do that but they used to have to make either 200 or 500 for public release to homologate something. It was still a great car
<2023-04-22T21:31:45.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I've seen where some of the BMW guys who are making serious power with the 135s/335s are swapping in 8.8" differentials from Fords that have IRS suspension like the newer Explorers or Expeditions. The 8.8" is a solid differential but I don't think I'd do enough upgrades to warrant needing that. I think the stock diffs hold up fine to around 500rwhp don't they? That's about all I'd want for a daily driver.
<2023-04-22T21:33:03.000Z> RangoDingbot: I think they do as long as you dont launch at every stop light like my brother did lol
<2023-04-22T21:33:46.000Z> RangoDingbot: His was fine for years with those mods but just recently started making diff noises
<2023-04-22T21:34:14.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Did you know that the automatic transmissions in the 135s/335s are based off of Chevrolet automatics which means it should be easier to beef them up. Having a beefed up automatic in a car like that with smaller turbos and little to no lag would make for a great drag racing or "roll racing" car and it would still handle and brake fairly well too.
<2023-04-22T21:35:53.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: If it wasn't so expensive it would be worth the trouble to swap an 8.8" in just so you can drive it hard and not worry about breaking stuff but then you'd probably end up finding another weak point and it would likely be the transmission. I don't think the 6 speed manuals in those are very cheap or easy to come by either. That's one reason I told my friend to NOT upgrade the clutch in his car. You're better off smoking a clutch than the transmission or differential.
<2023-04-22T21:37:45.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah good point. The clutch isnt too hard to replace. And yeah BMWs have been using GM autos since like 98 or 99 i think
<2023-04-22T21:38:08.000Z> RangoDingbot: Ive never done any internal transmission work though
<2023-04-22T21:38:36.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I think you're right. Maybe even earlier since I want to say the autos on the E30s were some weak version of a Chevy 700r4 or something.
<2023-04-22T21:39:05.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I've done just about everything but rebuilding transmissions, rebuilding differentials, and body work.
<2023-04-22T21:40:43.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: If I had access to a shop where I could use a lift, transmission jack, and a big bench to lay the parts out I think I could do a transmission rebuild if I had a guide. Setting up differentials is tricky from what I've seen and heard. You have to get the backlash right and make sure the contact patch between the ring gear and pinion gear is just right and it takes skills and specialty tools to do that.
<2023-04-22T21:43:06.000Z> RangoDingbot: Damn. I have a crease in my e30s door but im too nervous to let these mexis work on it. I think up until the e46 all BMWs had getrag manuals and ZF autos
<2023-04-22T21:43:41.000Z> RangoDingbot: But hey i gotta go help my brother move a few pieces of furniture. I’ll be back in a couple hrs. Lots of driving lol
<2023-04-22T21:44:28.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I haven't had a fun car in a while so I'd like to get one soon. I ended up selling my first car which was a 5.0L Foxbody because someone hit me in the rear quarter panel and then my idiot father and brother rolled a fucking log into the door and mirror and didn't even say sorry much less fix it. I was SUPER pissed when covid came around and the roads were empty and I didn't have a fun or somewhat fast car to drive. That was a once in a lifetime (hopefully anyways) opportunity that I missed out on.
<2023-04-22T21:45:07.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Getrag and ZF make good stuff. A lot of companies use their stuff, even American car companies for some of their cars and trucks.
<2023-04-22T21:45:26.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Have fun man. It's great talking with you as always
<2023-04-22T21:45:32.000Z> RangoDingbot: Damn that sucks lol. I love my e46 since i can take 90° turns at 50-60mph with my suspension mods haha
<2023-04-22T21:45:48.000Z> RangoDingbot: You too bro, i’ll hit you up later
<2023-04-22T21:45:58.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I like having good power but nothing beats being able to corner and brake well
<2023-04-22T21:46:30.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: "power is nothing without control" - think that was a quote from Steve Saleen who used to make Mustangs handle and brake well since the factory didn't
<2023-04-22T21:46:53.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: What part of TX are you in? I might know some good bodyshops
<2023-04-22T21:50:04.000Z> RangoDingbot: Im in the north dallas area kind of close to denton
<2023-04-22T21:50:12.000Z> RangoDingbot: You?
<2023-04-22T21:51:10.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I am from Arkansas but I've telling people online that I'm from Georgia because I'm worried the doxers could be watching.
<2023-04-22T21:51:46.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I know someone who does bodywork for a living and does good work but you'd have to drive up to Northwest Arkansas area to use them.
<2023-04-22T21:52:12.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: They restore muscle cars for a living and one of them has done bodywork for nearly all of their adult life.
<2023-04-22T21:54:28.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Bodywork is expensive and it can be hard to find someone who is good and stands behind their work. I'm sure there are some great shops around you but you'd probably have to ask around and do research before using them. It sounds like since you just have a crease in the door it might not be too bad though. They should be able to remove the door and get the crease out and then blend/paint match it if you're not wanting a complete paint job
<2023-04-23T00:30:00.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah the factory paint is still in perfect condition so id like to leave it as is. I have a ton of family in NE Arkansas, Jonesboro. My brother went to UofA in Fayetteville, beautiful area.
<2023-04-23T00:30:38.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I live closer to Fayetteville than the other areas and that is where the people I know who do bodywork are
<2023-04-23T00:31:24.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: If you can find some people who have had recent work done and are happy with it then you might be better off with a local. I wonder if you asked your local insurance companies about who does the best work if they'd tell you
<2023-04-23T00:32:48.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah problem is the price at this point. I used some bmw touch up paint to cover any bare metal in the scratch of the crease so it’s not rusting at least. Its been there for years though so at some point i just need to have it fixed lol
<2023-04-23T00:34:56.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I do the same as far as touching up bare metal with factory touch up to keep rust at bay. I want to say that a good body shop would probably charge around $1,000 to take the door off, gut it if necessary, get the crease out, and then paint match everything and put it all back together but I may be wrong. I've heard that materials alone for a decent single color and clear coat paint job are $2,000+ now.
<2023-04-23T00:38:39.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Painting isn't as hard as some make it out to be but the prep work like taking the crease out and re hanging the door is where a good bodywork man shines. Some of the mexicans are decent at that stuff but many of them suck and its hard dealing with them often.
<2023-04-23T00:40:16.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah I’ve done lots of painting with car parts and guitars. I might just see if i can find a new door skin and transfer everything over
<2023-04-23T00:41:38.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: It might be easier but I think they're riveted or spot welded and you'd still have to find a paint store that can match the paint on the car since it would be slightly faded. If you do that, make sure to buff it out and all that so the old paint is as nice as it can be when you paint match
<2023-04-23T00:42:11.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: They make spot welding devices too which makes it easier but I don't know how much it costs for a decent one
<2023-04-23T00:43:15.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Better yet, ask the BMW dealership who they use for their bodywork and paint if they will tell you
<2023-04-23T00:47:49.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Does that car drive or would you have to trailer it somewhere? I'm wondering if it would be worth the money and effort to bring it up here to have someone who is known to be good fix it versus trying to find someone local.
<2023-04-23T00:49:56.000Z> RangoDingbot: Hmm yeah they use service king i think
<2023-04-23T00:50:18.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: 277 miles from you to me at 4hrs 15mins according to the internet. I guess it isn't as bad as I thought. It'd still probably take $100+ in fuel one way
<2023-04-23T00:51:09.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: If they use service king then I'd get a quote from them. You know it won't be the cheapest but it should be a sure thing to have it done right which is what is most important.
<2023-04-23T00:51:35.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Very rarely does it work out well to go for the cheapest option in paint and body work haha
<2023-04-23T00:54:14.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Sometimes you can find someone who works for a bodyshop that does stuff on the side and get a good deal but you'd really have to know them to be able to trust them. If they hang up the plastic and get all the dust out and all that stuff they can do a pretty decent job in their garage these days.
<2023-04-23T01:00:08.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I was thinking that if I ever had a car repainted I'd see if they could put extra clear coat or something else on the front bumper to help keep rock chips from happening. I know some people like perfect paint jobs but I personally like factory level or a little better instead of show quality because I like to drive and don't want to be scared of getting rock chips and stuff.

At least for the 135is and 335is it is a good version of the DCT though. The Audi S4s that I'd want have either a DCT or a 6 speed manual and I hear the DCT on them is pretty stout. The Audi S4 of those years has a supercharged V6 which is easy to get another ~75-100hp out of too I think since you can swap pulleys, intercooler (I think), exhaust, and a tune. Never driven one but they look fun. I think I'd probably be better off with a 135/335 of some kind though.

I like the color and interior and the fact that it is a 6 speed manual and a 4 door. The weight difference between the 2 and 4 doors isn't as much as the difference between the 2 doors and convertibles and they say the 4 doors are more structurally solid too.
<2023-04-23T03:47:18.000Z> RangoDingbot: I just woke up from a late nap lol im gonna be up all night. That 335 looks nice but overpriced imo. Unless its under 100k mi i wouldnt pay that much. The only thing i can remember about the sedans being more rigid is the 2 doors typically have a folding rear seat that opens to the trunk whereas the sedans don’t, its just solid sheet metal. Even with that i still added a rear shock tower bar on my e46 and could feel the difference. Now my e30 is a very flexible chassis lol. Before i put a lower cross brace and a strut bar on it, i could feel the chassis flex on angled driveways etc
<2023-04-23T03:49:24.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: strut tower bars and subframe connectors are worth the trouble for sure. I doubt I'll buy any of them but that is kinda what I'm looking for. The 4 door cars are supposed to be more rigid due to the extra pillars from having 4 doors instead of 2 but I'm not sure how big a difference it actually makes.
<2023-04-23T03:50:07.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I wish the E36 M3s had 6 speed transmissions. I'm pretty sure the European spec ones did.
<2023-04-23T04:03:21.000Z> RangoDingbot: Wouldnt be hard to swap one from a zhp or e46 m3 into one. autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=678162668&0=vehicledetails.xhtml&minPrice=10000&maxPrice=25000&makeCodeList=BMW&city=Plano&state=TX&zip=75074&requestId=1819194850&searchRadius=50&modelCodeList=135I%2C335I%2C335IXD%2C335IS%2CBMW340I%2CBMW435I&marketExtension=include&maxMileage=100000&isNewSearch=false&showAccelerateBanner=false&sortBy=relevance&numRecords=25&listingTypes=USED&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fcars-between-10000-and-25000%2Fbmw%2Fplano-tx%3F0%3Dvehicledetails.xhtml%26requestId%3D1819194850%26searchRadius%3D50%26modelCodeList%3D135I%252C335I%252C335IXD%252C335IS%252CBMW340I%252CBMW435I%26zip%3D75074%26marketExtension%3Dinclude%26maxMileage%3D100000%26isNewSearch%3Dfalse%26showAccelerateBanner%3Dfalse%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26numRecords%3D25&clickType=listing
<2023-04-23T04:14:57.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: That's what I've heard. Some have swapped a six speed in from those models and I don't think it was too much hassle.
<2023-04-23T05:01:20.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: funny that dingo says that after melungeon gave him $150, talked shit about me and rands chat and kissed his ass the other night
<2023-04-23T06:43:55.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah all bmw 6 cyl at least from the e30-e46/80s-00s will mount up to a transmission from any other bmw 6 cyl. So a 2005 e46 6 speed transmission will mount to a 1988 535i
<2023-04-23T06:45:13.000Z> RangoDingbot: I think dingo just tries to be nice to whoever gives him money lol. I actually missed what he was bitching about regarding you in chat. Was out walking my dog listening to the stream on headphones.
<2023-04-23T06:48:44.000Z> RangoDingbot: So yeah i think the e36 m3 will take a 6 spd trans from another bmw since its all about the bell housing mounts. The e36 m3s are badass. I love the m3 evo vader seats, dove grey interior and black metallic paint oof
<2023-04-23T06:49:54.000Z> RangoDingbot: I really like the late 90s e36/7 m coupe/z3 coupe and the z4/m coupes. The design is badass and seem like fun little cars
<2023-04-23T07:43:02.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Yeah, it was mostly dingo being influenced by the guy who gave him $150 last night... who ended up getting a 5 minuted ban for calling rand an asshole narcissist LOL. He is a psycho and I feel like melungeon is estalking me or something.
<2023-04-23T07:44:25.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Also agree about the e36 M3s. It'd be hard to swap those seats out for Recaros since they're so nice from the factory. BMW actually has Recaros in some of their factory cars. Almost swapped a pair of E30 Recaros into my Foxbody since they matched the style so well.
<2023-04-23T07:45:04.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: The only downside I can think of with the e36 m3s is the lack of 6 speed but it wouldn't be too hard to swap eventually
<2023-04-23T07:45:48.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: They're $15k-$20k for a decent one now though. There is a nice blue one on autotrader at the moment
<2023-04-23T08:07:35.000Z> RangoDingbot: Dang I haven’t really looked at the market for m3s, regardless of year, in a long time. Last i looked the e36 m3 was like 6k for a rough one to 12-15k for a nice low mileage example
<2023-04-23T08:09:35.000Z> RangoDingbot: My e30 vert has recaros. The best part (or cope lol) over the vert s30s is the majority were 5spd and all convertibles came with the same interior as the e30 m3 coupe and convertible
<2023-04-23T08:11:32.000Z> RangoDingbot attached file https://i.poastcdn.org/a184fff0f181e17c1aeaa0d2e8573a5976f485a4ed5eace5859800c809a948f3.jpeg

<2023-04-23T08:18:14.000Z> RangoDingbot: Er meant to say oem bmw recaros…
<2023-04-23T19:17:57.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Yep, those are the seats I almost got for my foxbody. They fit well since the interior is kinda plain with straight lines like the e30. I dig that steering wheel too. Looks like a momo style wheel but factory.
<2023-04-23T19:19:11.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: The e46 M3s have risen but not as much as the e36s for some reason. The e39 M5s have leveled off I think and for 20k I'd consider one. BMW and Mercedes V8s sound great. I love Ford and German V8s. Not big on Chevy and Dodge stuff.
<2023-04-23T20:26:54.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Damn that E30 is in great shape. I wouldn't mind a convertible if I could put a roll bar in it and have the top still close. I wish BBS wheels weren't so expensive because they look great on BMWs, Porsches, and just about anything else.
<2023-04-23T20:31:44.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: If I ended up getting a car with an automatic transmission I think I'd go with a Mercedes AMG, I'd prefer the supercharged S55 first, then the C55 or early N/A E55, then the supercharged E55. The S65 AMG is nuts, twin turbo V12 and you can get them fairly reasonable too. A supercharged E55/S55 can be tuned to have around 650rwhp I think and be daily drivable and last 300k+ miles too from what I've read. A supercharged C55 would be cool but they're the same price as a S55/E55 and the supercharger kit is about $10k so it isn't really worth it. Those 5.5l AMG V8s sound really great and are SUPER durable too. The transmissions and differentials are also really tough. The interior holds up really well to and is made with really nice materials.
<2023-04-23T20:36:02.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=668269236&allListingType=all-cars&makeCodeList=MB&modelCodeList=S55AMG&city=Van%20Buren&state=AR&zip=72956&searchRadius=0&marketExtension=include&startYear=2003&isNewSearch=false&showAccelerateBanner=false&sortBy=derivedpriceASC&numRecords=25&requestId=NO_ACCIDENTS&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fall-cars%2Fmercedes-benz%2Fs-55-amg%2Fvan-buren-ar%3FsearchRadius%3D0%26zip%3D72956%26marketExtension%3Dinclude%26startYear%3D2003%26isNewSearch%3Dfalse%26showAccelerateBanner%3Dfalse%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26numRecords%3D25%26requestId%3DNO_ACCIDENTS&clickType=listing I don't like that has been damaged somehow although it might not be bad and the fact that it is being sold in a state which has harsh winters and likely salts the roads but it is clean and lower mileage. There used to be a lot more of these listed for sale but I guess people are catching on and buying up all the stuff I wanted to buy but didn't have the money to buy. The last couple years there have been some ~100k mile super clean examples for between $12k-$15k
<2023-04-23T22:27:12.000Z> RangoDingbot: Lol yeah that s class is badass. I like mercedes a lot but i dont know much about em
<2023-04-23T22:31:54.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: They're pretty reliable if you get the right ones and the ones in the late 90s to mid 2000s are reliable too. The 5 speed auto in them is near bulletproof. Tough differentials as well.
<2023-04-23T22:32:49.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I like the looks of the S class best because the headlights don't seem to look as dated but the C55 and E55 still look good. The late 90s early 2000s E55 is a great looking and very reliable car as well.
<2023-04-23T22:34:51.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Similar to BMWs though, people are scared of working on them and you might have to spend $2k on air shocks or $1k for a power seat motor (just an example, not sure if its true) for a car that cost $15k used so people say it doesn't make financial sense. The thing is, you're getting a car that cost about $100k new and still has 200k miles or more left on it and will still hang with many of the new performance cars and rides great as well.
<2023-04-23T22:53:14.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah thats true. Thats how i see my old bmws too. Ive seen bmw i6’s go to 700k miles
<2023-04-23T23:00:58.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: negros are why a lot of them get a bad name I think. they want a cheap flashy car and NEVER do any maintenance so when it falls apart early people notice it.
<2023-04-23T23:01:33.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Even a lot of normal Americans don't realize that in Germany they take their cars and upkeep of them seriously because they have to be reliable and safe to be on the autobahn
<2023-04-24T04:30:16.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah ive seen the vehicle inspections in Germany, its very strict. And yeah I remember watching mercedes get blacked in the late 90s.
<2023-04-25T01:42:31.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I kinda wish we had something like the TUV here after seeing all the unsafe shitboxes that negros, hispanics, and Whites who don't know how to properly modify stuff drive
<2023-04-29T23:54:41.000Z> RangoDingbot: Dunno how i missed this, probably too many tabs open lol. But yeah half the vehicles in the US probably wouldnt pass TUV
<2023-05-01T01:31:36.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I've said that if they were to ban the second amendment I'd probably try and move to Germany. I really hate how people here don't take driving seriously and don't care about rules and order. Being "free" doesn't mean being free to be stupid in every aspect of life.
<2023-05-01T03:16:18.000Z> RangoDingbot: True. I’ve always thought about moving to Iceland or Scotland
<2023-05-06T22:03:54.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Kickchef is a good dude but he will argue about the most retarded shit and double down on it when given the chance
<2023-05-06T22:46:45.000Z> RangoDingbot: Lol yeah i noticed
<2023-05-06T22:50:09.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I've figured out a while ago that if you give people an "out" in an argument/debate that allows them to admit you're right without looking stupid or maybe even admitting they're wrong then they'll take it if they're smart but anytime I do it with him he doubles down haha
<2023-05-06T23:22:13.000Z> RangoDingbot: Lol i just try to stay out of the debates if its folks im familiar with
<2023-05-06T23:33:52.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: Same, I try not to get into them and try not to go too hard if it is people like Kickchef or others in chat who I know are good dudes at the end of the day, regardless of whatever they say
<2023-05-06T23:36:02.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yep. Ive seen a lot of you around for years. I used to post as jwallace on red ice and killstream back in the day. But i bought a shirt from ralph right before portugal 1.0 and then i started making fun of him so i figured best to change my handle lol
<2023-05-06T23:38:14.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: haha. I missed out on the Ralph stuff before he went nuts. I think I found Rance shortly after he left. I always try to be positive and give hope to people in chat which is funny because the other night when that guy Melungeon who I haven't seen around in a while buttered dingo up by donating like $150 which caused Dingo to say that I never say anything positive about anything
<2023-05-06T23:39:35.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I watched RedIce for a few years before finally making an account on DLive after YouTube booted them off. I guess that was somewhere around 2019?
<2023-05-06T23:40:30.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: A few days ago one of NNRs mods gave me a 30 minute temp ban for not having an avatar on odysee. I wanted to tell him "I talk to him in DMs pretty often and he knows my username and we get along very well" but I didn't
<2023-05-06T23:58:01.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I thought it was hilarious coming from Dingo because that is his M.O. but he settled down later on. I haven't seen that Melungeon guy around much after Rand gave him a temp ban for calling him a selfish asshole or something during a stream
<2023-05-07T00:00:35.000Z> RangoDingbot: Lol yeah i was modded on NNRs channel for like 1 night otherwise i wouldve unbanned you
<2023-05-07T00:10:26.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: It's alright, he didn't say anything to me about it the other night. One of these I might get around to putting an avatar on there but I just don't see why one of the mods took it that serious
<2023-05-07T00:10:37.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: *One of these days
<2023-05-07T00:11:02.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah i have no idea why they care about avatars lol
<2023-05-07T00:14:55.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: I guess it is due to troll accounts not having them but many people in the chat know me and said hello plus my account is like two years old so it should be obvious that I'm not one of those week old troll accounts
<2023-05-07T00:50:10.000Z> RangoDingbot: Yeah usually the new trolls have a 🌱 next to their name
<2023-05-07T00:50:39.000Z> RangoDingbot: Lol Rand passed out drunk on his stream like an hour ago and its still going haha
<2023-05-07T00:54:01.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: damn, i think he passed out last night too
<2023-05-07T00:54:36.000Z> RangoDingbot: I think he ended it abruptly last night
<2023-05-07T00:55:24.000Z> GabeLakmann@nicecrew.digital: yeah, he said he was leaving but the stream kept going I think haha]
